As awful as what happened past friday, and now what happened yesterday was, we are not done. There’s more coming this coming Tuesday. A very, very similar threat is going to happen on Tuesday. See below.

When we warn people about ‘strong to violent’ tornadoes, we’re talking about a special class of weather that is hard to really fully describe in words.

This tornado, which happened in SE Iowa yesterday is a classic example. This tornado was almost certainly an EF-4.

Another violent tornado occurred last night, after dark, in Sullivan Indiana. The aftermath truly is startling & will take your breath away.

A lot of communities in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Tennessee & Kentucky are dealing with this kind of aftermath this morning. And this is in addition to the communities that were hurt last Friday in Mississippi and Arkansas. If you are near any of those impacted, please call their local fire departments or police departments and ask if volunteers are needed & go help out.

Homes with nothing left but a slab of foundation, and someone else’s cars dropped where the house used to be. This is what we mean when i say ‘violent’. Note: footer 2x4 still attached to slab w/ lag bolts, so it was a new construction well built home built to modern building codes.

It takes incredible violence to do this to healthy, hard wood trees. And all this stuff gets turned into missiles that impact people & other structures as the tornado impacts them. These are stills from Brett Adair’s drone footage. All credit to him. He chases & reports for Live Storms Media.

Notice the slab foundation at the bottom of this still shot. Even the 2x4 wall footers are gone & the lag bolts from the foundation & the concrete where they were is gone too.

Sorry I haven’t had much to say for a couple of days. I’m in recovery from a procedure and dealing with a lot of pain.
