He’s right: the MYTH that ‘AR’ in AR-15 stands for ‘assault rifle’ is total bullshit- AR comes from the company that first mass produced the design Eugene Stoner created, Armalite. The AR-15 is an Armalite pattern rifle. Its a family of rifles of different types & configurations based on the same core components.
