Argument: His lies weren't material.

Meanwhile, Baker was asked if this type of interaction with an outside counsel had ever occurred before. In response, Baker admitted that his interaction with Sussmann was singularly unique:

Mr. Baker: I that thatโ€™s correct. Sitting here today, thatโ€™s the only one I can remember

Sussmann was never interviewed by the FBI, which Baker also found surprising, noting:

โ€œIt is logical to me that we [the FBI] would go back and interview [Sussmann].โ€

Sussmann WAS interviewed by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Dec. 18, 2017.

Meadows to Baker:

โ€œEverything about this investigation seems to have been done in an abnormal way, the way that you have gotten the information, the way that Strzok got information, the way that Ohr was used, the way that Perkins Coie actually came in and gave you information.โ€

Baker's Response:

โ€œI had a jaundiced eye about everything, yes. I had skepticism about all this stuff. I was concerned about all of this. This whole situation was horrible, and it was novel and we were trying to figure out what to do, and it was highly unusual.โ€

Sussmann also pressured the FBI, later telling Baker he was speaking w/NYT.

Mr. Baker: He was the sourceโ€”he told me the New York Times was aware of this. We, the FBI, went to the New York Times and then started a series of conversations with them to try to get them to slow down.

Sussmann used his personal relationship w/Baker to ensure that his information would receive immediate attention.

Youโ€™re the FBIโ€™s general counsel, if youโ€™re getting information from an outside source and passing it on, that means something.โ€

Baker: โ€œI suppose so, Congressman.โ€ https://twitter.com/themarketswork/status/1494362451193651208?s=20&t=U3sjUnAj3dwkQXt1YFeIew

๐ŸŽฉTIP Techno Fog @Techno_Fog Here's why Sussmann is likely to fail.

Sussmann was trading on his name - former DOJ lawyer, purported cybersecurity expert - to convince the FBI to open an investigation.

He knew his reputation was material to what the FBI would do with the (false) Alfa Bank info.

Lawsuit Claims Michigan Election Chief Illegally Accepted Zuckerberg Money to Swing 2020 Election

A lawsuit filed against Democrat Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson asserts she illegally accepted private money for the 2020 presidential election to swing the election for Joe Biden, Just the News reported.

The Chicago-based Thomas More Society filed the lawsuit in the Michigan Court of Claims, alleging Benson violated election law by spending private election funding on partisan purposes that denied Michigan votersโ€™ constitutional equal access voting rights.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan contributed $400 million nationwide into the 2020 election through their Chicago-based nonprofit, the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL), according to a report by The Center Square.

InfluenceWatch found that โ€œ25 of the 26 cities and counties that received at least $1 million from CTCL went to Biden in 2020.โ€ The New York Times noted that the communities that were CTCL grant recipients cast about 76% of their combined votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Thomas More Society Special Counsel Thor Hearne said that Benson spent CTCL money to boost Democrat-dominated areas in the 2020 election via increased mail-in voting and ballot harvesting.

At least 11 Republican-led states have barred or limited the use of private funding in future elections: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas. The Kansas law goes further, making it a felony for a government official to accept or spend private money to help conduct an election, CNN stated.

Thomas More Society attorneys are representing Wisconsin voters in a similar lawsuit.
