For YEARS the Iranian regime railed at the US for the accidental shoot down of an airliner during the 80s tanker wars following the near sinking of the USS Stark. She was hit w an iraqi exocet anti ship missile.
The USS Vincennes misidentified an Iranian Airliner and thinking they were about to get hit w/ an exocet, and shot down the civilian plane. Huge tragedy.
The US responded w a full admission, investigation and apology including reparations.
The Iranians engaged in terrorism, then launched a wave of missiles after the US took measures to defend itself and in Tehran’s rush to violence they killed 180 people w a Tor M1 Surface to Air Missile, denied it, and are currently hiding the planes black boxes.
The difference between the two events couldnt be bigger and more clear.
