Preganglionic fibers come from:

Spinal cord --> White ramus communicate --> sympathetic ganglion --> then they either:

1- synapse with postganglionic neurons IN the paravertebral ganglion

2- or pass through paravertebral fibers to a superior/inferior ganglion

3- or pass through grey ramus communicate to reach a "pre"vertebral ganglion

The human cortex is made up of:

• Neocortex

• Allocortex:
1- Paleocortex
2- Archicortex

القشرة الدماغية القديمة -تطوريًا- هي الـ Allocortex وهاي تشكل فقط 10% من الدماغ، وموجودة غالبًا بالمناطق المسؤولة عن حاسة الشم/الذاكرة بالـ Limbic system.

اللي يميزها هو أنها تتكون من 5-3 طبقات، في حين أنّ القشرة الحديثة Neocortex تتكون من 6 طبقات. ولأن القشرة القديمة موجودة بأجزاء الدماغ المرتبطة بحاسة الشم، هالشي قاد العلماء للإعتقاد أنّ حاسة الشم هي أقدم الحواس تطوريًا.

Midbrain is made of 2 parts:
