State secrets were tapped, and the academy’s computers were encrypted so that the entire system crashed, a report by Onet states.

“The effects of this attack have not been removed, and the academy’s employees do not have access to their computers and work email,” it continues, adding that the lost data might not be recoverable.

The breach happened inside the computer network Poland’s largest military academy, the Warsaw’s War Studies University (ASzWoj) on July 10, the eve of the NATO summit in Vilnius, according to a recent report by Polish outlet Onet.
