China vs Taiwan tensions seem to be heating up lately: The world's chip heart is under threat
People are ignoring the fact that the China-Taiwan conflict would be the most bearish trigger of all.
The world heavily depends on Taiwan for advanced microchips used in AI, smartphones, and high-end computing. According to IEP, a full-scale war over Taiwan could cost the global economy $10 trillion thatβs 40X more than the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.
IMO, further war escalation shouldnβt happen right now, but if it does, it could lead to a sudden and massive crash in global markets especially for tech stocks and crypto.

- Revenue turned positive: After years of substantial losses, Lido is now profitable. From -$191m & -$153.8m in 2021/22 to +1m this August.
- Narrative staking ETF: Mid-2025, the SEC declared that liquid staked ETH is not a security, paving the way for the Ethereum staking ETF.
- Narrative Treasury staking: Ethereum treasury companies are staking Ethereum & their network participation benefits LIDO as the largest liquid staking provider.
- Valuation: At only $1.5b FDV, Lido doesn't seem expensive, especially when compared to protocols like Eigenlayer at $2.3b. Consider Lido's $38 billion TVL.
- Additional Insights: Fully unlocked & upcoming tokenholder call
Bottom Line:
Altogether, LIDO is one of the most important DeFi protocols.
It will uniquely benefit from the institutional adoption of DeFi that we are currently witnessing.
Pair that with their improved economic situation & revenue share rumors, and I arrive at LIDO being a great trade.

Was 100% in stables the last few days (besides some minor trades) because I expected some chop.

Iβm more than confident that Bitcoin will dump below $100,000 in September, followed by new ATHβs in the coming weeks and months after β³

It feels like sentiment is finally turning bearish.
This wasnβt the case when we first shifted to risk-off & also not when we articulated the bearish stance.
That makes me think it could soon be the right time to start accumulating some of the stronger altcoins (very slowly).
My target range is $4,000β$3,800, so scaling in slowly makes sense here.
That said, I remain bearish overall.
