A new joint advisory from FBI, CISA, NSA, EPA, Dept of Energy, and US Cyber Command claims Iran-affiliated actors are actively hacking programmable logic controllers (PLCs) β the little black boxes that run pumps, valves, chemical dosing, turbines, and substations across America's critical infrastructure.
This potentially impacts energy, water/wastewater treatment, irrigation districts for farms, and municipal government facilities.
