Simple Harmonic Motion Energy Guide: Kinetic, Potential, and Total Energy
Transverse Waves Equations.pdf

In these Cube Notes, you'll master:
1. The Great Illusion: Understanding why the medium only oscillates while energy propagates.
2. The "Why" of Motion: How tension and curvature create the net force needed to move the disturbance.
3. The Master Equation: A visual breakdown of A, λ, f, k, ω, and the phase constant φ.

Transverse Waves: Key Concepts

Two Velocities: Medium particles move vertically in SHM (v_p), while the wave pattern moves horizontally (v_w).

The Controllers: Source sets frequency (f); Medium (Tension T, density μ) sets speed: v = √(T/μ). Increasing f only shortens λ, it won't change v.

Wave Function: y(x,t) = A sin(kx - ωt + φ).

Direction: Opposite signs (kx - ωt) mean the wave moves Right.

🎸Physics in 1 Minute: What controls Wave Speed?
Is wave speed controlled by the frequency or the string? Here is the hierarchy of formulas you need to master Transverse Wave Velocity.

Key takeaway: The medium controls the speed (v); the source controls the frequency (f). The wavelength (λ) just adjusts to match!
