Good morning Supreme Court fans!

As the justices sat for their non argument session today, they released three opinions in argued cases today.

1). Williams v. Reed: Justice Kavanaugh delivered the opinion of the Court, Justice Thomas filed a dissenting opinion, joined by Justices Alito, Gorsuch, and Barrett.

2). Wisconsin Bell, Inc. v. United States ex rel, Heath: Justice Kagan delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court.

3). Hungary v. Simon: Justice Sotomayor delivered the opinion for a unanimous Court.

The justices will also hold a private conference today, one case pending the emergency docket is an injunction request filed by the Trump administration to allow them the authority to fire the DOJ’s Office of Special Counsel. The district court order currently in place allows the special counsel to continue operating in its capacity.

BREAKING: Supreme Court holds President Trump’s request to fire the head of the Office of Special Counsel, holding the application in abeyance until next Tuesday, when the District Court’s TRO is set to expire.

It’s another opinion day for the justices, as they hand down one or more opinions in argued cases this term. Yesterday they handed down two opinions.

JUST IN: Chief Justice Roberts issued an administrative stay on a district court midnight-deadline that required the Trump administration to pay $2 billion in foreign aid invoices. The Chief requests a response to the emergency petition by noon on Friday February 28.

Today the justices will begin their day by releasing an order list of the cases they discussed during their private conference on Friday, it will be released at 9:30amET. We are still waiting to hear from the justices on the emergency appeal from the Trump administration regarding the firing of the Special Counsel’s office in the DOJ.
