Happy Friday Everyone!

Usually today would be a conference day (still technically is), however the justices will instead be convening to hear two (consolidated) cases for oral argument. The cases stem from the law that initiates a ban on the popular platform TikTok if it is not divested from its owner company Bytedance.

Over the past few weeks, both parties have been arguing via briefs whether the law should be upheld or struck down. President-Elect Trump also wrote an amicus brief, asking the justices to put a pause on the law while his incoming administration β€œseeks a political resolution” on the matter.

Justices will start arguments for the two cases at 10amET, here is a link to listen live as they occur: https://www.supremecourt.gov/oral_arguments/live.aspx
