How bout this proof how life can sometimes come full circle? ⭕️💫❤️ I’ve had the privilege of granting hundreds and hundreds of kid’s wishes from @Make-A-Wish and every single one has changed my life every single time. And looking back to when I was a kid - my dad, Rocky Johnson was actually one of Make-A-Wish’s VERY FIRST WISH GRANTERS back in the 80’s. My dad was a very tough, no BS guy who wasn’t big on emotions. But when I saw him take this little boy, Bobby out of his wheelchair and hold him in his arms - I’d never seen my dad so loving, warm, caring and ATTENTIVE in my life. As a kid I remember thinking how surprised I was seeing my dad that warm and how cool it was to me, that my dad was a hero. But now as a man, I look back and think that the REAL HERO is that little boy Bobby, and my dad was LUCKY to have the honor of making little Bobby’s wish come true. I don’t have a ton of memories of my dad being so loving like this so it means a lot to me to relive this...

Opening a birthday gift - one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received. A ticket 🎟️ to a wrestling show I attended when I was 11yrs old to watch my dad wrestle. Who would’ve thought years later I’d hold this ticket, and wishing I had one more shot to say hello (or goodbye) to my old man. As a kid, we were always on the road and I don’t remember my dad smiling much, as he was always mentally tired and his body banged up and in pain from the nightly grind - but he did find moments of PEACE when he was wrestling in that squared circle. Even in this video you see my dad attempting a SLIGHT SMILE 🙂 I know I’m not easy to buy gifts for, so VERY thoughtful gifts like this mean the world to me from my loved ones. Mahalo brother Brad. 8:57am my two little tornadoes beg me to let them have a make up party on my head. 8:59am I agree to the torture. 9:04am they get into a huge fight over “the kind” of make up they’re going to give me so they decide to split my face down the middle and each one of them can do whatever they want to “their side” of daddy’s face 👀 10:17am I’m in the shower realizing this s#%t takes forever to wash off. 11am zoom meeting, realizing I still have nail polish on 💅🏾🙋🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ But in the end when it’s time to tuck ‘em in to bed, and kiss ‘em goodnight - you remember quick that they’re only little once and you’d do anything to make ‘em laugh and smile. My mental wellness turned into my mental hellness. Many of you know the drill, you put on “the face”, show up to work, smile and get through it. Perhaps not the healthiest thing to do, but it’s what I was used to doing at the time. Then a song came on through my headphones one morning on a random shuffle playlist. “Only” from Jelly Roll. The lyrics rocked me. Hard core. The words moved me so much that I reached out to Jelly. I said you don’t know me and I don’t know you, but this song of yours is helping me through some stuff I’m dealing with. I just called to say thank you brother. Our bond was born.
