An honor to say a few pregame words to the Apalachee High Football Team, seconds before they took their home field in their first game back, after these incredibly brave kids endured a tragic mass shooting at their school on Sept 4th. These players & coaches all play now with a higher purpose and greater intention. Win or lose, they’re all undefeated in the game of life. It was my honor to be in this room. It’s beyond the game.

They say “Never meet your heroes”... But that saying always bugged the heck outta me - because I’ve always felt if you’re a “celebrity” of any caliber and you’re LUCKY enough to have some fame and influence - then be grateful for the position you’re in and be KIND and GOOD to people — ESPECIALLY OUR KIDS. Sure I’ve met some a#%holes as an adult, who I was so excited to finally meet and wound up being super disappointed- but that further cemented how I feel about fame. When I was a little boy, I finally met one of my heroes - Muhammad Ali 🐐- he was so sweet and kind to me. Made a MASSIVE POSITIVE impression on me that I never forgot. Marco - it’s great to meet you, shake your hand and give ya a hug. Keep up the great work in school and THANK YOU big man for being my biggest fan!!! 🤜🏾🤛🏼 ps, us big boys cry too 😉🥹💪🏾
