ROME PROTEST VIOLENCE: It turns out that "the protester" who smashed the doors of the union building and who violently beat other protesters when covered by police was in fact a policeman. This is the oldest trick in the book in Italy, bring violence to the protests, blame the protesters and call them violent "neofascists". Incidentally the neofascist groups in Italy have historically always been infiltrated and effectively run by the state. What this tells us is what the authorities fear most are non-violent resistance demonstrations getting massive.
