🔹Finland 🇫🇮 claims Russia 🇷🇺 is to blame for Quran burning. Foreign Policy claims that Ankara’s real demand is the end of U.S. 🇺🇸 support for Kurds in Syria 🇸🇾. Hungary joins Türkiye to condemn Sweden.

🔹Hungarian 🇭🇺 FM P.Szijjarto has declared that Turkish President Erdogan should be considered for a Nobel Peace Prize. Critics accuse Hungary of purging NATO officers from it's military.

🔹President Z. Milanovic of Croatia 🇭🇷 (an EU & NATO member), criticised Western nations for supplying Ukraine with heavy tanks.

🔹Brazilian 🇧🇷 President Lula da Silva rejects Germany's proposals to send weapons to Ukraine during German Chancellor O. Scholz's visit to Brazil. Both Argentina & Chile have given Germany a cold shoulder on the issue.

🔹 A German gov't official suggested that Lula’s reluctance to condemn Putin may also be shaped by the large quantity of fertilizers that Brazilian farmers 🚜 buy from Russia 🇷🇺. Germany outlined more than $200 million in contributions for environmental projects in Brazil's Amazon forests.

🔹Germany 🇩🇪 attempts to speed up progress to finalise the proposed EU–Mercosur free trade agreement (FTA). Mercosur (The Southern Common Market) is a customs union comprising of 12 Latin American countries with a free intra-zone trade & a common trade policy.

🔹Germany's Chancellor O. Scholz is on a Latin America tour to push for the completion of the EU–Mercosur FTA. The EU is concerned over discussions of a Latin American common currency announced by Brazil 🇧🇷 & Argentina 🇦🇷.

🔹The U.S. 🇺🇸 beef cow herd dropped to its lowest level since 1962 ——USDA. Severe drought raising costs for livestock feed is given as the reason. Declining supplies of cattle are expected to keep meat prices high for consumers.

🔹Ranchers increasingly sent cows 🐂 to slaughter last year, instead of keeping them to reproduce, as dry weather reduced the amount of pasture available for grazing in the western United States and on the Plains. At the same time, a tight labor market limited slaughtering at meatpacking plants.

🔹There were 28.9 million beef cows as of Jan. 1, down 3.6% from a year earlier. Overall the total number of cattle and calves across the country fell 3% 📉 from a year ago to 89.3 million, the lowest since 2015.

🔹Don Roose, founder of US Commodities, a grain and livestock investment and management firm, warned: "We're still in the contraction phase. "It takes a long time to build a herd back up again."

🔹India’s 🇮🇳 ambassador to Russia 🇷🇺, Pawan Kapoor ——-Moscow & New Delhi should consider jointly building oil-carrying ships and establishing energy insurance companies. He noted that the countries “should think about the future and look at opportunities of ship-building & creating independent logistics network & insurance.”

🔹India imports nearly 90% of its crude oil 🛢 but is rich in refining capacity. Refiners are gobbling discounted Russian crude grades for re-export as diesel fuel and other distillates. One of the biggest oil-products exporters happens to be India’s largest publicly traded company, Reliance Industries.

🔹Indian 🇮🇳 refiners have begun paying for most of their Russian 🇷🇺 oil purchased via Dubai-based traders in UAE 🇦🇪 dirhams instead of USD. Indian refiners & traders are concerned they may not be able to continue to settle trades in dollars, especially if the price of Russian crude 🛢rises above the G-7/EU imposed price cap. The State Bank of India, is now clearing these dirham payments after previous failures.

🔹Many parts of Italy 🇮🇹 faces a major internet outage today, Sunday 5 February. From North to South there are thousands of users left without internet and telephone on the Telecom Italia network. The problem would have mainly concerned the internet connection from the fixed network and the difficulty of opening some websites in particular if connected to the network.

🔹The greatest number of problems seem to be concentrated in the major 🇮🇹 urban centers relating to internet access from a landline of Telecom Italia subscribers and in some cases also from mobile.

🔹CloudflareRadar data shows traffic loss nationwide, on AS3269, and on AS16232, due to an "international interconnectivity problem". 🌐

🔹Today, on the morning of Monday 6th Feb., a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck in southern Türkiye 🇹🇷, causing significant destruction across the country and in neighboring Syria. A second a 7.5-magnitude earthquake took place in the afternoon. Over 1,541 people are dead, as buildings collapsed on both sides of the border.

🔹It was centered in the in the southern province of Kahramanmaras 🇹🇷 at a depth of 7 km. In the Turkish Kilis Province, natural gas pipelines were ruptured.

🔹In Syria 🇸🇾, it recorded over 716 deaths and over 1,000 injured people. A large refinery in the city of Baniyas, had to be shut down for at least 48 hours due to cracks in the chimney of its power unit.

🔹Türkiye has officially requested help from NATO for medical assistance and equipment. 45 countries have responded and offered help, including Iran, Israel, India, UK, US, Azerbaijan, EU members states & the UAE. Russia is mobilizing to provide Syria & Türkiye with the necessary aid it requires.

🔹Dozens of giant turbines on Scotland’s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 windfarms have been powered by diesel generators. Scottish Power 💡 admitted 71 of its windmills were hooked up to the generators after a fault developed on the grid. The firm said it was forced to act in order to keep the turbines warm during very cold weather. A whistleblower has said the incident is among a number of health & safety failings.

🔹Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is expected to lose £60bn including billions from the public purse through the surrender of nearly two thirds of the potential supply chain bonanza & the 'underselling' of leasing rights for offshore wind. 🔹A fire burned down a farm run by New Zealand’s (NZ)🇳🇿 largest egg producer Zeagold. Zeagold estimated that about 75,000 hens were killed in the fire then later revised that number down to 50,000. Twelve workers who were on the Orini north of Hamilton farm site were unharmed.

🔹The losses at Orini represent only 1.4% of the layer hen population nationally. NZ has been in the grip of an egg 🥚 shortage since the start of 2023, when it banned battery farming (confined system of cages). 10% of hens were farmed this way.

🔹Before the 🇳🇿 Zeagolds fire, farmers had estimated they needed to raise another 300,000 hens before the shortage abated.

🔹The fire comes roughly one week after one of America's top egg suppliers, Hillandale Farms, burned down, killing up to 100,000 chickens.

🔹Demand for eggs are forecasted to go up as a study titled "Chicken Egg Yolk Antibodies (IgYs) block the binding of multiple SARS-CoV-2 🦠 spike protein variants to human ACE2" is gaining traction.

🔹Ghana's 🇬🇭 media publishes scathing article against the West's green revolution & its military industrial complex (MIC) which is destroying the Democratic Republic of Congo's 🇨🇩 (DRC) ecosystem. The DRC is responsible for 75% of the cobalt & 50% of the tantalum imported by the US.

🔹More bombs, electric vehicles & cellphones requires 'western democracy' to violate human rights, destroy the environment, & commit crimes in the DRC to obtain these valuable minerals. The article made claims of US 🇺🇸 political interference & engineered conflicts in Africa to maintain it's access over these resources.

🔹Footage has surfaced from the Shabara mine & others in the DRC 🇨🇩 show young children mining ⛏ cobalt for $2 day. Apple, Microsoft, Google, Tesla & others all insist that they hold cobalt suppliers to the highest of standards.

🔹Recently, the IEA estimated that the world will need roughly 20 times as much nickel & cobalt by 2040 as it had in 2020, and 40 times as much lithium.

🔹The Syrian Arab Red Crescent President called for lifting the US 🇺🇸 & EU 🇪🇺 sanctions on Syria 🇸🇾 to facilitate earthquake relief efforts. At least 1,602 people have been killed & thousands injured in Syria from the disaster so far.

🔹Syrian 🇸🇾 FM F. Mekdad warned that the US sanctions have worsened the circumstances as sanctions have prevented the delivery of everything to the country. Syria had appealed to the UN 🇺🇳, Red Cross & NGO's over the issue. The US claims that they did not impose sanctions on humanitarian aid.

🔹It is evident that countries not adhering to US sanctions are the only ones helping Syria after the earthquakes. Russia🇷🇺, & Iran 🇮🇷 arrived on the ground in Syria the same day of the earthquakes to help in relief efforts. From China 🇨🇳, 220 tons of wheat are on their way to Syria, & 3,000 tons of rice and wheat will be sent soon. India 🇮🇳 sent sent 6 tonnes of relief materials and more support is on it's way.

🔹Russia's 🇷🇺 FM S. Lavrov has now been made 'Commander of the National Order of Mali 🇲🇱', the award was presented to him by the FM of the African Republic. He was also awarded a traditional Malian takuba sword.

🔹EU 🇪🇺 Foreign Affairs chief diplomat J. Borrell saying 'Mali is an easy African country' for Russia to manipulate has been received as an insult to Africans. Borrell lamented about Africa not supporting sanctions. This comes after his recent gaff analogy of Europe being a garden with other countries a jungle.

🔹The French 🇫🇷 Foreign Ministry has claimed that Russia is threatening the sovereignty of Africa. Russian Foreign Ministry rebuked this & said “French colonialism on the African continent has ended. The era when African countries had to ask someone, before making a sovereign decision has ended.”

🔹Reports from Downdetector show US 🇺🇸 based users in the past few hours access to Twitter, Facebook (Meta), YouTube & Instagram have been restricted due to ongoing glitches. Fox News has also faced issues.

🔹Twitter problems began around 4:45 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, when users who tried posting messages saw a notification that said they were “over the daily limit for sending tweets.” “Twitter may not be working as expected for some of you,” the company posted. “Sorry for the trouble.”

🔹Netblocks noted that Instagram was down in multiple countries. Reports also show the same for YouTube.

🔹Coincidentally, earlier today, A US House Oversight Committee hearing meant to put former Twitter executives and their actions under a spotlight, but the room suddenly went dark in the middle of the questioning.
