🔹Oil supply via a section of the Druzhba 🛢 pipeline has been temporarily suspended by Ukraine 🇺🇦. Russia's Transneft has been notified by Ukraine.

🔹Slovakia's Transpetrol confirmed, citing "technical reasons on the Ukrainian side". Ukraine told Hungary's MOL a power station that provides electricity for a pump station, is offline due to Russian missile strikes.

🔹USA 🇺🇸 - Former US President Donald Trump announces that he is running for president in the 2024 elections.

🔹In his speech he cites the dire economic situation of the US, drug trafficking across the US southern borders and escalation of war. He mentions that North Korea, China and Russia had respect for the US during his presidency.

🔹Australia 🇦🇺 - Logistics / Supply Chain nightmare. Empty shelves and high prices set to get worse following a train derailment 🚂🚋🚋🚋 & flooding that has essentially cut Australia’s rail network in half.

🔹The main Melbourne-Adelaide train line is now cut off following an enormous train crash near Inverleigh (Geelong area), after heavy rain had undermined a piece of track. No one was injured.

🔹Workers have started clearing the wreckage of the train derailment amid a union call for Victoria's rail safety rules to be urgently assessed. "Rail workers are increasing concerned that Australia's 🇦🇺 rail safety regime is no longer fit for purpose and not enough is being done to ensure that tracks are safe,"

🔹Oil inventories in developed economies are at their lowest level since 2004. OPEC has cut its oil 🛢 demand growth forecast, 5th time since April.

🔹Russia 🇷🇺 & China 🇨🇳 are shifting to payments in national currencies - in rubles and in yuan - for supplied energy resources, to mutual settlements performed in particular for supplies of equipment from China.

🔹Payments for supplies of oil and petroleum products are also being proactively shifted to national currencies. Trade turnover between Russia and China in the energy sector increased by 64% in monetary terms and by 10% in physical terms.

🔹Iran 🇮🇷 has lost $450 billion in oil revenues in a decade due to US sanctions, causing a serious economic crisis. In absence of sanctions, Iran was exporting anywhere between 2.2-2.5 million bpd. But when sanctions were imposed exports were as little as 200,000 bpd.

🔹About half of Iran's state budget depends on oil 🛢revenues, while at a $30 billion annual shortfall, the annual inflation rate is 40% in the past 2 years.

🔹European traders are rushing to fill tanks in the region with Russian diesel before an EU 🇪🇺ban begins in Feb., as alternative sources remain limited.

🔹The EU will ban Russian oil 🛢 product imports, (includes diesel), by Feb. 5, following a ban on Russian crude taking effect in Dec. Russian diesel loadings destined for the Amsterdam 🇳🇱 (ARA) storage region rose to 215,000 bpd from Nov. 1 to Nov. 12, up by 126% from Oct.

🔹“The EU will have to secure diesel coming from the US, the Middle East & 🇮🇳 India. Diesel prices & cracks (differential to crude oil price) soared to record levels in Oct. & are now 70% and 425% above year-ago levels, respectively.

🔹China 🇨🇳 signed a landmark $60 billion agreement for purchases of LNG from Qatar 🇶🇦. Qatar Energy will send Sinopec 4 million tons of LNG a year starting in 2026. The deal will last for 27 years, making it China’s longest LNG supply agreement to date.

🔹The global LNG 🚢 market is all but maxed out in terms of supply and there is little new production coming online before 2026. EU talks with Qatar have stalled amid reluctance from the likes of Germany to commit to long-term contracts.

🔹The gas for Sinopec will come from the North Field East expansion, which will cost Qatar 🇶🇦 and investors including Shell Plc and Exxon Mobil Corp. almost $30 billion. Is China planning to rely less on US exported LNG? (photo)

🔹Bulgaria 🇧🇬 will allow a Black Sea refinery owned by a Russia's Lukoil to keep operating & exporting oil products to the EU until the end of 2024 despite warnings by Brussels that it is against the bloc’s sanctions.

🔹The deal between Bulgaria 🇧🇬 & Lukoil will give an additional 350 million-euro (dollar) boost to Bulgaria's budget.

🔹From Jan. 1, 2023, Lukoil will transfer all production, revenues & taxes to be paid in Bulgaria, & not, as it was before, in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 or Switzerland🇨🇭. The refinery cannot work if exports are curtailed.

🔹Bulgaria’s sole refinery is the main source of gasoline & diesel ⛽️fuel sold on the Bulgarian market.

🔹US 🇺🇸 cold storage of orange juice plunged to the lowest level in half a century after extreme weather in Florida & citrus greening damaged production. Orange juice 🍊futures hit record highs of more than $2 per pound 📈.

🔹Brazilian 🇧🇷 exports of orange juice to the US in the first four months of the season surged 58% from a year ago. US stockpiles of cold-stored orange juice plunged by 43% in September from a year earlier -- the lowest level since 1977. A combination of diseases across Florida's citrus groves and Hurricane Ian destroyed crops.

🔹Back in January '22, it was reported on this channel, that Florida, has been hit very hard by a bacterial infection spread through an invasive insect, the Asian citrus psyllid, first detected in 2005. Last week, the USDA awarded a $1million grant to support the development of a plant antibiotic delivery system.

🔹This is the 3rd year of demand exceeding supply, with prices in the US 🇺🇸 & Europe 🇪🇺 set to become 20% to 30% more expensive by 2023.

🔹UK 🇬🇧- Supermarket customers are facing limits on how many eggs they can buy amid a supply crisis that is expected to last beyond Christmas. Marks & Spencer & Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Aldi & Lidl are rationing sales of boxes of 🥚eggs.

🔹Bird flu 🐓 in the UK has resulted in around 750,000 laying hens being culled since 1 October. Some supermarkets are also importing eggs to fill gaps in supply. If one hen in a flock is infected, the entire flock needs be culled, which leads to substantially fewer hens laying eggs.

🔹Czechia (Czech Republic 🇨🇿) - Despite being able to produce much of its own food, the country is still seeing a dramatic increase in food prices. 📈 Rising energy prices is only part of the problem because a substantial amount of domestically produced food is exported to the EU & abroad.

🔹For 2020, the Czechia 🇨🇿was fully self-sufficient in 3 food groups: beef, milk and milk products, & sugar. In October, domestic food prices rose by 26.7%. In 2021, Czechs paid less than 90% of the European average. In 2022 local food prices were up to 96% of the EU average.

🔹Czechia's EU 🇪🇺 centric PM told farmers self-sufficiency is unrealistic.

🔹Netherlands 🇳🇱: BP said the planned restart of its oil refinery 🏭 in Rotterdam is on hold after unions refuse to return the refinery online over a pay dispute.

🔹The refinery processes 400,000 barrels of oil 🛢annually (3% of northern Europe’s refining capacity) & is a top supplier of diesel to Northern Europe. Wood Mackenzie Ltd: "stockpiles of fuel in region may slide to record lows".

🔹Unions are seeking a 9.5% pay increase + a one-time bonus, while BP has offered a 5% increase + a one-time bonus. Dutch inflation is around 15% 📈.
