Key highlights of Union Budget 2024 👇🏻
1. Standard deduction for salaried employees under the New Tax Regime hiked to ₹75,000 from ₹50,000 and for family pensioners increased to ₹25,000 from ₹15,000
2. LTCG tax rate increased to 12.5% from 10%. Exemption limit for LTCG increased to ₹1.25 lakh from ₹1 lakh
3. Angel tax abolished for all classes of investors
4. Corporate tax rate on foreign companies to be reduced to 35%
5. Basic customs duty on mobile phone, mobile PCBA and mobile charger to be reduced to 15%
6. TDS rate on e-commerce operator reduced from 1% to 0.1%
7. FM retains capex outlay of ₹11.11 lakh crore for infrastructure sector which is 3.4% of the GDP
8. STT on futures increased to 0.02% and on options increased to 0.1%
9. STCG for certain financial assets increased 20% from 15%
10. Custom duty on gold and silver reduced to 6% and 6.4%, respectively
11. Income received on share buybacks will now be taxed in the hands of recipients
