▪️Keeping a distance from relatives, if it's in everyone's best interest▪️

Our Shaykh, Muhammad ibn Hizaam -may Allaah preserve him- was asked the following question:

📩 Question:

The questioner says: I have relatives, who when we communicate with them great problems arise between us, especially amongst the women, and if we boycott them, the problems cease and everyone goes about his business, so is it right to boycot in this case?

📝 Answer:

If keeping a distance is a reason for avoiding problems, then keep a distance, but continue to give them their rights of Islam; such as, returning the greetings, visiting the sick, attending the funeral procession, etc. You must give them their rights. Likewise, if they are afflicted by a calamity, you have to assist them, and so on.

▪️Shaykh Sālih al-Fawzān - may Allaah preserve him- mentions:

“It is not permissible to exalt and praise the innovators, even if they have with them some of that which is the haqq. That is because raising and praising them will spread their bidah and makes them from amongst the sincere ones, who are taken as examples from amongst the men of distinction of this Ummah. The Salaf have warned us against having trust for the innovators, and have warned against praising them, and from their gatherings.”

Motive number:2

From the motives which aid the Muslim to abandon the sins is to: *((love Allaah much)).*

*If we establish the true love for Allaah in our hearts, then the fruits of this love will be shown in our actions and the way we behave in public and in secret. So we refrain from doing haraam and sins out of love and veneration for Allaah. And we carry out all His commandments out of love for Him The-Most High.

Just by simply contemplating upon the uncountable blessings of Allah upon you, your heart becomes filled with love for Him The-Most High.

Once you do this, Allaah The-Most High, The All-Mighty and The-All Great  will love  you! Oh you weak poor slave!!

And if Allaah loves you, then care not about who hates you.

If Allaah loves you, He will protect you, and will grant you success in this world and in the hereafter.

It has been reported by Al-Bukhaari on the authority of Abu Hurayra – may Allaah be please with him- that Allaah said:

((whoever shows enmity to a routhouse slave of mine, indeed I have declared war against him, and my slave does not seek nearness to me with anything more beloved to me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and he does not cease to seek nearness to me by carrying out the voluntary acts until I love him…))

If Allaah loves you then the Angels and the Righteous will love you too.

The prophet – peace be upon him- said:

If Allaah loves a person, He calls out to angel Jibreel, Allaah has loved such and such person, so love him O Jibreel, then Jibreel loves him, Jibreel then calls out the angles in the heavens, Allaah has loved such and such person, so love him, so the angles of heavens loves him, then places acceptance for him upon the earth.

(Reported by Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurayra.)

Pondering upon this makes you race to attain the love of Allaah, many people claim to love Allaah, but the real question is! Does Allaah loves them??!!

Allaah has made a criterion and clear distinction between those who truly love Him and those who their love for Allaah is nothing but a mere claim.

Allaah says:

Say (O Muhammad SAW to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allaah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

{Surah Aal-E-Imran, Ayah 31}

If you truly love Allaah then follow his commandments and refrain from His prohibitions and follow His Prophet muhammad peace be upon him and Allaah will surely love you too.

As for the one who chooses to follow the commands of shaitaan over the commands of his lord then his claim for the love of Allaah is false.

Allaah says:

Did I not ordain for you, O Children of Adam, that you should not worship Shaitan (Satan). Verily, he is a plain enemy to you.
And that you should worship Me [Alone Islamic Monotheism, and set up not rivals, associate-gods with Me]. That is a Straight Path.
And indeed he (Satan) did lead astray a great multitude of you. Did you not, then, understand?

{Surah Ya-Seen 60 - 62}

And know that the obedience of shaitaan over the obedience of Allaah The- Most High is a form of shirk with Allaah The-Most High!.

So to summarize: bearing the love of Allah in your heart is from the greatest motives which aid the Muslim upon establishing the worship of Allaah and obeying Him and refraining from haraam.

And know! , if you don’t establish the love of Allaah and hold onto your religion as Allah has commanded you, then Allaah will do away with you and bring about a people who will truly love Allaah and Allaah loves them.

Allah says:

O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islam), Allah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allah, and never afraid of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower.
-Surah Al-Ma'idah, Ayah 54.

At the time of sin your love for Allah is put to the test, will you answer shaitaan who's calling you to your desire and lusts which lead to hellfire or will follow Allah who's calling you to His Mercy and paradise.

So Allah is constantly testing His slaves, to show us who truly loves Him.

May Allaah grant us righteous actions and make us from those who love Allaah and Allaah loves them.

▪️Ibn Taymiyyah - may Allaah have mercy upon him- mentioned:

“The nifaaq and zandaqah (found) with the Raafidah is more than that which is (found) with all the sects; rather it is the case that every single one of them has an aspect of Nifaaq; for indeed, the basis of the nifaaq that is founded upon lying is that a man utters with his tongue that which is not in his heart just as Allaah informed about the munaafiqoon.

The Raafidah take this to be from the Fundamentals of their religion and name it Taqiyyah; and relate this (on behalf) of the leaders of Ahlu bayt, whom Allaah freed from (all) of that.”

▪️It is NOT PERMISSIBLE to describe a Dead Person as 'forgiven' or 'upon whom is mercy'

All praise be to Allāh, and may peace and blessings of Allāh be upon His servant and His Messenger, Muḥammad, and upon his family and Companions. As for what follows :

Many announcements have appeared in the newspapers concerning the deaths of some people, as have the notices of bereavements placed by the relatives of the dead, describing the dead therein as 'forgiven' or saying 'upon whom is mercy,' or such sayings alike, indicating that he is one of the inhabitants of Paradise. It is not unknown to anyone who has knowledge of the religion of Islām and its beliefs that this is one of the things which is known to none except Allāh, and that the belief of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamā'ah is that it is not permissible to testify for anyone that he is in Paradise or Hell, except for those who are documented in the Qur'ān, such as Abu Lahab, or for those whose end was testified to by the Messenger (ﷺ), such as the ten from among the Companions, may Allāh be pleased with them, and their like; or others such as them, for whom there is evidence of their being forgiven or shown mercy. Therefore it is incumbent to say instead: “May Allāh forgive him" or "May Allāh have mercy on him", or similar words of supplication for the dead.

I ask Allāh, the Most Glorified that He guide us all to the Straight Path. And may peace and blessings of Allāh be upon our Prophet Muḥammad, and upon his family and Companions.

Buying and selling in the Masājid via telephone

Question:

What’s the ruling of buying and selling through the telephone while being inside a Masjid ?

May Allah preserve you.

Answer:

It’s disliked to buy and sell inside the Masjid even if it was through the telephone, and this was the legal ruling of the ‘Allāmah Ibn ‘Utheymīn, may Allah have mercy upon him, as it comes in “Sharh Al-Bulūgh “.

For the Masājid are only established for the Tawhīd of Allah, singling out Allah alone, and His worship, through prayer and His remembrance, Exalted is He.

Allah, the Most High, said:

” In houses (Masājid), which Allah has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is glorified in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings,

Men whom neither trade nor sale diverts them from the Remembrance of Allah (with heart and tongue), nor from performing As-Salāt (Iqamat-as-Salāt), nor from giving the Zakāt.”

[An-Nūr:36-37]

And in Sahih Muslim on the authority of Buraydah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet ﷺ said:

(إنما بنيت المساجد لما بنيت له)

“The Masājid are only for that which it’s built for.”

And avoiding this in the Masājid is from veneration of the symbols of Allah.

He, the Most High, said:

(ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَٰٓئِرَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى ٱلْقُلُوبِ)

“Thus it is. And whosoever honours the Symbols of Allah, then it is truly from the piety of the heart.”

[Al-Hajj:32]

And Ibn Batāl, alongside other than him, have relayed the consensus of the validity of the sale & purchase, if it took place in the Masjid , with this the scholars differ in relation to its prohibition or it being disliked.

And the Majority are upon it being disliked, and this is what is declared most correct by Shaykh-Ul-Islām.

And the apparent of the evidences is with the position of those that are upon it being prohibited, due to the hadeeth of ‘Amr bin Shu’ayb, from his father, from his grand-father: that the Prophet ﷺ forbade buying and selling in the Masjid .

Reported by the authors of the sunnan with a decent chain of narration.

As for its invalidity; the Majority of the people of knowledge are upon the lack of it being invalid.

And what is brought to attention is that using the hadīth of Abu Hurayrah:

(إذا رأيتم من يبيع أو يبتاع في المسجد فقولوا لا أربح الله تجارتك)

“If you see anyone selling or purchasing in the Masjid, then tell them, may Allah not bring about benefit through your commerce.”

As a reason for the lack of declaring the purchase/sale invalid; being that there is a approval of it in the hadīth, but that it’s supplicated against with the fruitlessness of their profit.

Is rejected because the hadīth is defectious; it’s been declared as such by Ad-Daaruqutni, due it being Mursal.

And Allah knows best.

▪️He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving▪️

Our Shaykh, Abu Abdillah Muhammad ba Jamaal - may Allaah preserve him - said in his Tafsir of Surah Al-Mulk:

🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️🔸▪️

Benefit:

Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:

{وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُور}

"He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving” [67:2]

⤵️The Shaikh explained that this means:

‘Allah is extremely powerful in taking to account all that disobey and oppose His command. And He is the Most Honorable, Ever-Invincible. Yet with all of this ultimate power, He is Ever-Forgiving to the one that repents to Him from his mistakes then leaves them to return to His Lord.

And He combines between these two names to clarify to His servants the greatness of His forgiveness for them and to show the completeness of His power over them.

And His saying,

{الْغَفُورُ}

“The Forgiving”

This name comes on the scale in Arabic that means to do alot of. And this points to Allah’s great and tremendous forgiveness and in the numerous amounts that He forgives and it also shows how much the servant sins.

And the proof of Allah's amazing forgiveness is the hadith Qudsi that Imaam Muslim compiled from Abu Dhar

“ And he who meets Me in the state that his sins fill the earth, but not associating anything with Me, I would meet Him with the same (vastness) of pardon (on My behalf)."

And also the supporting hadith that Imaam Tirmidhi reported on the authority of Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) also from Abu Dhar that the Prophet(صلى الله عليه وسلم) said,
‏ ‏ ‏
‘O son of Adam! Verily as long as you called upon Me and hoped in Me, I forgave you, despite whatever may have occurred from you, and I did not mind. O son of Adam! Were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky, then you sought forgiveness from Me, I would forgive you, and I would not mind. So son of Adam! If you came to me with sins nearly as great as the earth, and then you met Me not associating anything with Me, I would come to you with forgiveness nearly as great as it.'

So oh servant of Allah, the one constantly committing mistakes and disobeying his Lord, never despair of the mercy of Allah. Know that if you repent to Allah, He forgives all sins, again and again and again.
