Allah's Name:
At-Tawwฤb (The Accepting of Repentance)

โžก๏ธ At-Tawaab is the One Who returns to His servant with approval after being angry at him and turns to him with forgiveness after punishment. He is the One Who enables His servant to repent and accepts his repentance.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs 11 times in the Qurโ€™an. For
example, Allah says:

"Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He Who is the Accepting of Repentance, the Ever-Merciful" [Al-Baqarah: 37]

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, always remember that the one who is most worthy of praise and extolment is Allah Almighty. We cannot extend enough praise to Him; indeed, He is as He has praised Himself. Praise your Lord for His acceptance of repentance from His servants and His vast forgiveness and pardon.

๐Ÿ’Ž When we contemplate how Allah Almighty generously accepts repentance from His servants, we feel love for Him and our despair goes away for He is the Most Beloved One.

๐Ÿ’Ž As human beings, we all sin. The Prophet(๏ทบ) said: โ€œAll human beings are sinners, and the best of sinners are those who frequently repent.โ€ [Al-Tirmidhi]. Implore Allah Almighty to make you incline to sincere repentance without delay and ask Him to accept it from you.

๐Ÿ’Ž Even our beloved Prophet ๏ทบ, the dearest person in Allahโ€™s sight, practiced daily repentance, he said: โ€œO people, repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness. Verily, I repent to Allah one hundred times a day.โ€ [Muslim]

๐Ÿ’Ž Remember sister, people are of two types: those who are repentant ones and are forgiven and those who are deprived wrongdoers. Choose to be a repentant slave for repentance is a trait of the believer, accompanying him in all stages of life and during his entire journey.

Allah's Name:
Al-Wadood (The Most Affectionate)

โžก๏ธ Al-Wadood is the Loving One Who loves His pious servants and shows affection to them through forgiveness and giving - and they love Him.

โžก๏ธ When Allah Almighty loves someone, He answers his invocations, protects him from what he fears, and makes him well accepted by people. And when a person loves Allah Almighty, he obeys Him and longs to meet Him.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs twice in the Qurโ€™an. The first mention is in this verse:

๏ดฟูˆูŽุงุณุชูŽุบููุฑูˆุง ุฑูŽุจู‘ูŽูƒูู… ุซูู…ู‘ูŽ ุชูˆุจูˆุง ุฅูู„ูŽูŠู‡ู ุฅูู†ู‘ูŽ ุฑูŽุจู‘ูŠ ุฑูŽุญูŠู…ูŒ ูˆูŽุฏูˆุฏูŒ๏ดพ

"And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Most Merciful, Most Affectionate" [Hลซd: 90]

โžก๏ธ The second mention is in the verse that reads:

๏ดฟูˆูŽู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ุบูŽููˆุฑู ุงู„ูˆูŽุฏูˆุฏู๏ดพ

"And He is the All-Forgiving, Most Affectionate" [Al-Burลซj: 14]

๐Ÿ’Ž We should praise our Lord much, especially when we know that the Lord we worship is the Most Affectionate. All praise is due to Him.

๐Ÿ’Ž The wise person pursues every means that wins him the love of Allah Almighty, such as faith, kindness to people, drawing close to Him through various kinds of obligatory and voluntary acts of worship and repenting to Him from any shortcoming or mistake. Allah says that which means: "Surely Allah loves the ones constantly repenting, and He loves the ones constantly purifying themselves" [Al-Baqarah: 222]

๐Ÿ’Ž Whoever wants to taste the love of Allah Almighty should get to know the perfect attributes of His majesty and beauty and reflect upon His great bounty and favors towards His creation. In the Qurโ€™an, He says, that which means: "And whatever favor you have - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help." [Al-Nahl: 53]

๐Ÿ’ŽThe clearest signs of Allahโ€™s love for a person is the person's close following of the prophet ๏ทบ and sincere implementation of his Sunnah. As Allah revealed: "Say [O Muhammad], โ€œIf you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.โ€ [Aali-โ€˜Imrฤn: 31].

๐Ÿ’Ž When a person tastes Allahโ€™s love, life becomes pleasant in his eyes, good deeds become easy for him and he enjoys abandonment of sins and misdeeds for the sake of his Lord. His eagerness shall continue until he sees his Lord Whose promise is sure to come.

Allah's Name: ุฌูŠุฏ
Al-Majeed (The Most Glorious)

โžก๏ธ Allah is the One Who is Glorious in terms of His excellent names and attributes as well as His bounty and magnificence.

โžก๏ธ This great name occurs twice in the Qurโ€™an. One in the following verse:

๏ดฟ...ุฑูŽุญู…ูŽุชู ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ูˆูŽุจูŽุฑูŽูƒุงุชูู‡ู ุนูŽู„ูŽูŠูƒูู… ุฃูŽู‡ู„ูŽ ุงู„ุจูŽูŠุชู ุฅูู†ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุญูŽู…ูŠุฏูŒ ู…ูŽุฌูŠุฏูŒ๏ดพ

"May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy, Most Glorious" [Hลซd: 73]

โžก๏ธ The second mention of this noble name occurs in this verse:

๏ดฟูˆูŽู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ุบูŽููˆุฑู ุงู„ูˆูŽุฏูˆุฏู๏ดพ ๏ดฟุฐููˆ ุงู„ุนูŽุฑุดู ุงู„ู…ูŽุฌูŠุฏู๏ดพ

"And He is the All-Forgiving, the Most Affectionate, the Owner of the Throne, the Ever-Glorious" [Al-Burลซj: 14-15]

๐Ÿ’Ž Since Allah Almighty is the Most Glorious and possesses tremendous magnificence and bounty, then He alone should be worshiped and turned to for the relief of distress and the fulfillment of needs.

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, if you want glory and high status, get close to the Most Glorious Lord, obeying and praising Him and acting upon His Glorious Book. This is where you find true glory and status.

๐Ÿ’Ž Allah Almighty describes His Book as Most Glorious, saying: "Qฤf. By the Most Glorious Qurโ€™an." Of course it would be most glorious as it is the speech of Allah the Most Glorious. It is glorious in terms of its miracles, rulings, and blessings which are inexhaustible.

๐Ÿ’Ž We are required to glorify our Creator by frequently remembering Him, praising Him, and heeding His commands and prohibitions. Do not ever remember a created being or glorify him more than you remember and glorify the Most Glorious Creator.

Allah's Name: ูŠุฏ
Al-Hameed (The Praiseworthy)

โžก๏ธ Al-Hameed is the One Who is praised for His names, attributes and actions, and He is praised at good and bad times and in prosperity and adversity.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs 17 times in the Qurโ€™an. One mention is:

"They were guided to the pure word; they were guided to the Way of the Praiseworthy" [Al-Hajj: 24]

๐Ÿ’Ž Praise is to describe Allah by the perfection of His Self, attributes, and actions while feeling love and glorification for Him. Allah Almighty is praiseworthy for His perfection, and in all circumstances, even if His servants did not praise Him.

๐Ÿ’Ž One of the greatest verbal acts of worship is to frequently extend due praise to Allah. Let your tongue say it, your heart feel it, and your rank be elevated because of it. The Prophet (๏ทบ) said, โ€œAnd โ€˜glory be to Allahโ€™ [SubhanAllah] and โ€˜praise be to Allahโ€™ [Alhamdulillah] fill what is between the heaven and earth.โ€ [Muslim]

๐Ÿ’Ž One of the most sublime things for which Allah Almighty is praised is His excellent names and attributes. He is praised for His power and strength, forbearance, knowledge, majesty, magnificent authority, and His vast mercy and forgiveness. Then, He is praised for His blessings and bounty.

๐Ÿ’Ž We should try to know the situations where the Prophet (๏ทบ) is authentically reported to have engaged in Dhikr comprising praise for Allah Almighty, so we can do the same. For example, Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that whenever the Prophet (๏ทบ) went to bed, he would say, โ€œAll praise is due to Allah, Who provided us with both food and drink, protected and provided us with shelter. There are many who have no one to protect or shelter them.โ€ [Muslim]

Allah's Name:
Al-Manaan (The Bestower of Favors)

โžก๏ธ It is Allah, the Manaan, Who gives generously and bestows numerous favors and blessings upon His servants.

โžก๏ธ This name only occurs in the Qurโ€™an in a verb form. For example, Allah Almighty says:

"Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error" [Aal-โ€˜Imrฤn: 164]

โžก๏ธ It occurs as a name in a Hadฤซth in which Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he was sitting with the Prophet (๏ทบ) while a man was praying and then made this supplication: O Allah, I implore You by virtue of the fact that all praise is due to You, there is no god but You, You are the Bestower of favors, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Owner of majesty and honor, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer!โ€ Thereupon, the Prophet (๏ทบ) said, โ€œHe has implored Allah by His greatest name by which when asked, He gives, and by which when supplicated, He answers."

๐Ÿ’Ž Considering Allahโ€™s name โ€˜the Bestower of favorsโ€™ and pondering His bounty and generosity towards His servants inspires love within our hearts for Him and makes it incumbent upon us to give thanks and praise to Him.

๐Ÿ’Ž Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) wrote these beautiful words describing Al-Manaan...โ€œ The Bestower of favors is the One Who gives before being asked.โ€ All praise is due to our Lord in this world and in the Hereafter.

๐Ÿ’Ž Reminding people of your favours to them is a bad deed, but when Allah reminds His Servants of His favors upon them, it is a praiseworthy attribute of Allah Almighty. Indeed all blessings people enjoy come from their Lord as a favor from Him. But how can a created being boast of favors that do not actually come from him? Moreover, when a person gives something, he gets a reward for it and is promised compensation. On the other hand, Allah Almighty gives His servants as grace from Him, while He does not need them. Rebuking the nomad Arabs for counting their conversion to Islam as a favor to the Prophet, Allah Almighty says that which means: "They count it as a favor to you that they accepted Islam. Say, Do not regard your [accepting] Islam as a favor to me; rather, Allah has bestowed a favor on you by guiding you to faith if you are truthful" [Al-Hujลซrฤt: 17]

๐Ÿ’Ž Know that Allah Almighty loves that His servants be aware of His blessings and recognize His favors. This is a distinguishing trait of the believers.

โžก๏ธ In the story of Prophet Yลซsuf, he says: โ€œYes, I am Joseph and this is my brother. Allah has surely been gracious to us. Indeed, whoever fears Allah and remains patient, Allah does not allow the reward of such people to go to waste.โ€ [Yลซsuf: 90]

โžก๏ธ And about the dwellers of Paradise, Allah Almighty says: "And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. They will say, โ€œIndeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. Indeed, we Used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, Most Merciful.โ€ [Al-Tลซr: 25-28]

Allah's Name: ุงู„ุญุณูŠุจ
Al-Haseeb (The Ever-Reckoner)

โžก๏ธ Al-Haseeb has two general meanings. Firstly, the One Who suffices His servants against all their concerns and troubles in terms of worldly and religious affairs. The believers win the greater share of His sufficiency. This noble name also means, Allah, the Ever-Reckoner is the One Who recompenses His servants for their deeds.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs 3 times in the Qurโ€™an. For example, Allah says:

๏ดฟ...ุฅูู†ู‘ูŽ ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ูŽ ูƒุงู†ูŽ ุนูŽู„ู‰ ูƒูู„ู‘ู ุดูŽูŠุกู ุญูŽุณูŠุจู‹ุง๏ดพ

"Surely Allah has been Ever-Reckoner over everything" [Al-Nis

๐Ÿ’Ž Knowledge of this beautiful name prompts the Muslim to heed Allah Almighty and strive to follow the path dear and pleasing to Him, for He is the One Who records the deeds of His servants and recompenses them accordingly on the Day of Judgement.

๐Ÿ’Ž The believer who knows this noble name of Allah and remembers that there is hisaab (reckoning) to come, takes great care to not wrong anyone at all. This day is described in the Qurโ€™an, Allah says that which means: "Read your record. Yourself is sufficient against you this Day as a reckoner." [Al-Isrฤโ€™: 14]

๐Ÿ’Ž The wise person remembers often that the Day of Reckoning is ahead of him, the day when he will be recompensed for his deeds. No one forgets or disbelieves in the Day of Recompense except that he feels free to oppress others and act criminally and sinfully. "Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Reckoning" [Sฤd: 26]

๐Ÿ’Ž When the meaning of this name firmly settles in oneโ€™s heart, it gets filled with peace and reassurance, and he disavows reliance upon anyone but Allah Almighty, as Allah says:

"And He will provide for him from where he does not expect. Indeed, Allฤh will accomplish His purpose. Allฤh has already set for everything a [decreed] extent" [Al-Talฤq: 3]

๐Ÿ’Ž The biggest winners of Allahโ€™s sufficiency and preservation are the believers in Him and the followers of His Prophet (may Allahโ€™s peace and blessings be upon him), as Allah has promised: "O Prophet, Allah is sufficient for you and those believers who follow you" [Al-Anfฤl: 64]

Allah's Names:
Al-Dhฤhir - Al-Bฤtin (The Manifest - The Hidden)

โžก๏ธ Al-Dhahir, The Manifest, is the One Who is Higher and Above all things. Nothing is higher than Him. And He is the One Who Dominates and Encompasses everything.

โžก๏ธ As for the name Al-Batin, โ€˜the Hiddenโ€™, it means the One Who is more Subtle than everything else, and nothing is closer to anything than He is. And He is All-Knowing of all secrets and hidden things.

โžก๏ธ These two noble names occur once in the Qurโ€™an in the following verse:

๏ดฟู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽูˆู‘ูŽู„ู ูˆูŽุงู„ุขุฎูุฑู ูˆูŽุงู„ุธู‘ุงู‡ูุฑู ูˆูŽุงู„ุจุงุทูู†ู ูˆูŽู‡ููˆูŽ ุจููƒูู„ู‘ู ุดูŽูŠุกู ุนูŽู„ูŠู…ูŒ๏ดพ

"He is the First and the Last, and the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is All-Knowing of everything" [Al-Hadฤซd: 3]

โžก๏ธ They are also mentioned in the Prophetโ€™s Hadฤซth reported by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) teaching us a supplication to be said before sleep, a part of which is: โ€œO Allah, You are the First (Al-Awwal) and there is nothing before You; You are the Last (Al-Aakhir) and there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest (Al-Zahir) and there is nothing above You; You are the Hidden (Al-Batin) and there is nothing beyond You. Settle our debt and spare us from poverty.โ€ [Muslim]

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, your knowledge of these two names of Allah increases your recognition of the perfection of Allah Almighty, and your glorification and love for Him.

๐Ÿ’Ž One of the best means for instilling modesty within a personโ€™s heart is to consider his own weakness next to the greatness of his Lord, partially represented by these two names which indicate that Allah encompasses all creation in terms of time and place.

๐Ÿ’ŽHe is the First, and everything else was initiated and created by Him; He is the Last, and everything else will perish and go away; He is the Manifest, and everything else declines against His greatness and highness and He is the Hidden, and so He is close to everything else, no matter how distant or hidden it may be.

๐Ÿ’Ž Humble yourself to Him, submit completely to Him and rely on Him, exalted is He.
