Allah's Names: ุงู„ูƒุฑูŠู… ุงู„ุฃูƒุฑู…
Al-Karฤซm - Al-Akram
(The Generous - The Most Generous)

โžก๏ธ These noble names of Allah indicate the abundance of Allahโ€™s favors and the greatness of His giving. Indeed, Allah is Generous and He loves generosity.

โžก๏ธ His name, the Most Generous refers to Allah being better in generosity than every generous one. He has no equal in this. Indeed, all good lies in His hands and comes from Him.

โžก๏ธ The name Al-Kareem occurs 3 times in the Qurโ€™an. For example, Allah says that which means:

"O man, what has deceived you about your Generous Lord" [Al-Infitฤr: 6]

โžก๏ธ The name Al-Akram occurs only once in the Qurโ€™an in the verse that reads:
๏ดฟุงู‚ุฑูŽุฃ ูˆูŽุฑูŽุจู‘ููƒูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽูƒุฑูŽู…ู๏ดพ
"Recite, and your Lord is the Most Generous." [Al-โ€˜Alaq: 3]

โžก๏ธ In addition, the Prophet (๏ทบ) said, "Verily, your Almighty Lord is Modest and Generous. He is so Modest that He would not turn down His servant who raises his hands to Him (in supplication) empty-handed.โ€ [Ahmad]

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, let us praise our Lord often and not be negligent, for He is the Most Generous, none deserves to be praised more than He does and He praises Himself.

๐Ÿ’Ž Our Lord is the Generous One Whose favors are innumerable despite the commission of many sins on the part of His servants, so hasten to repent and be ever mindful of your Generous Lord.

๐Ÿ’Ž Allah is generous and He loves the generous and bountiful people. Show generosity to others and you will be shown generosity by Allah, and give to others and Allah will give you. And be very wary of miserliness as it is not befitting of the Muslim who follows the example of the Prophet ๏ทบ.

๐Ÿ’Ž Do not ever limit the areas of generosity to money and food. Indeed, there are other areas of bounty that may be greater and more valuable. For example, a person may show generosity through his standing, his knowledge, his time, or his life.

Allah's Name:
Al-Waasi' (The All-Embracing)

โžก๏ธ This beautiful name denotes the vastness of Allah's mercy, knowledge, majesty and all His perfect attributes.

โžก๏ธ It occurs 9 times in the Qurโ€™an. For example, Allah says that which means:

"But if the two separate, Allah will make each dispense with the other out of His plenty provision. Indeed, Allah is All-Embracing, All-Wise." [Al-Nis

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, your knowledge of the vastness and greatness of Allah and His mercy, power, knowledge, grace, and giving instills a sense of reverence and fear in your heart from Him, as well as love for Him. Ponder over the words of Allah...

"Our Lord, You have embraced all things in mercy and knowledge" [Ghฤfir: 7]

๐Ÿ’Ž You can couple Allahโ€™s name โ€˜the All-Embracingโ€™ with all His other names, for nothing in His creation is hidden from Him as He has all-embracing knowledge; nothing within His dominion can escape His power, for He has all-embracing ability, and the preservation of the heavens and earth does not tire Him; the sins of sinners do not trouble Him, for He has all-embracing mercy and forgiveness; and there is no limit to His giving and rewards, for He has all-embracing generosity.

โžก๏ธAs Allah says, "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing."
[Al-Baqarah: 261]

Allah's Name:
Al-Qudoos (The Most Holy)

โžก๏ธ Al-Qudoos means the One Exalted far above any deficiency or defect whatsoever, for He alone possesses the attributes of absolute perfection.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs twice in the Qurโ€™an. The first in the following verse:

   ๏ดฟู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ู ุงู„ู‘ูŽุฐูŠ ู„ุง ุฅูู„ู‡ูŽ ุฅูู„ู‘ุง ู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽู„ููƒู ุงู„ู‚ูุฏู‘ูˆุณ๏ดพ

"He is Allah, there is no god except Him; the King, the Holy One" [Al-Hashr: 23]

โžก๏ธ The second mention is in the verse:

"All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth extols the glory of Allah, the King, the Holy One, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." [Jumuโ€˜ah: 1]

โžก๏ธ Knowing this beautiful name of Allah increases the Muslim's love for his Lord, as it teaches us the perfection of Allah from all aspects and the fact that He has no deficiency whatsoever in His self or actions.

โžก๏ธ Part of extolling Allah Almighty is to extol His Shariah and deem it exalted above any deficiency. This requires that we rule with His Shariah and this will ensure our safety in this world and in the Hereafter.

โžก๏ธ As narrated by Abu Dawood, it is sunnah to recite after finishing the Witr prayer:

ุณุจุญุงู† ุงู„ู…ู„ูƒ ุงู„ู‚ุฏูˆุณ

"Subhaan Al-Malik Al-Qudoos"

โ€œGlory be to the King, the Holy Oneโ€, three times.

โžก๏ธ A benefit regarding the association between Allahโ€™s name โ€˜the Kingโ€™ and His name โ€˜the Holy Oneโ€™ is that Allah Almighty is not like the kings in the world who may commit injustice, mistakes, unwise acts or they go through heedlessness and forgetfulness. He is the Holy King Who is absolutely Perfect and Exalted far above all defects.

Allah's Name: ู†
Al-Muโ€™min (The Giver of Belief (Security))

โžก๏ธ Al-Mu'min is the One Who gives credence to His messengers and their followers. He gives testimony to their truthfulness and supports them through signs and evidence.

โžก๏ธ He gives security to people from injustice on the Day of Judgement, as He is the Most-Just. He also secures the believers from His punishment and He secures them from the panic on the Day of Judgment, as Allah says;

"Whoever comes (on judgement day) with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe" [An-Naml: 89]

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs only once in the Qurโ€™an, in Allah's saying:

"He is Allah, there is no god except Him. He is the King, the Most Holy, the Giver of Peace, the Giver of Belief (Security), the Guardian over all" [Hashr: 23]

๐Ÿ’Ž Pondering the meanings of this noble name instills such tranquility within a believerโ€™s heart. Indeed, Allah, the Giver of Belief and Security, is the Best One Who promised goodness and the Most Truthful One Who kept and shall always keep His promise.

๐Ÿ’Ž A believer will not attain security in this world or in the Hereafter except through the belief in the Giver of Belief and following His Shariah and the path of His Prophet (๏ทบ) as Allah says that which means: "They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice โ€“ those will have security, and they are rightly guided." [Al-An'am: 82]

๐Ÿ’Ž If you want Allah, the Giver of Belief (Security) to keep His promise for you in this world and in the Hereafter, be a true believer and heed the statement of the Prophet ๏ทบ:
โ€œA believer is the one from whom peopleโ€™s lives and wealth are safe.โ€ [Al-Tirmidhi]. Do not expect security from Allah when you break His boundaries, rather uphold your responsibility and know that Allah is the Giver of Security.

Allah's Name: ู‡ูŠู…ู†
Muhaymin (The All-Controller)

โžก๏ธ Al-Muhaymin is the One Who sustains and preserves His creation, watches over them and encompasses them.

โžก๏ธ This excellent name is mentioned in the Quran in Allah's saying:

"He is Allah, there is no god except Him. He is the King, the Most Holy, the Giver of Peace, the Giver of Belief (Security), the Supreme Controller..." [Al-Hashr: 23]

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, always remember that Allah Almighty constantly watches over you. So, if you are engaged in a good act, do it well, and if you are about to engage in an evil one, turn away and desist. If it happens that you err, show regret and seek forgiveness.

๐Ÿ’Ž Knowing the meaning of Allahโ€™s name Al-Muhaymin instills a sense of reverence for His Greatness, for He is Ever-Watchful over His creation and their deeds and He is the Guardian over every soul in this existence.

๐Ÿ’Ž The Qurโ€™an is described as a guardian (muhaymin) in a verse in Sลซrat Al-Mฤโ€™idah:

"And We have revealed to you the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a guardian over it" [Al-Mฤโ€™idah: 48]

๐Ÿ’ŽTherefore, the Qurโ€™an is a guardian and judge over the previous scriptures, and it is the best book revealed by Allah Almighty. This increases our love for this book, our joy because of it, and our action according to it with all certitude and assurance.

Allah's Name: ุงู„ูƒุจูŠุฑ
Al-Kabeer (The Great)

โžก๏ธ Allah is the Great in His Self, His attributes, and His actions. Nothing is greater than Him. Rather, all things are small next to His Majesty.

โžก๏ธ This noble name occurs 6 times in the Qurโ€™an. One example is:

"[He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Great, the Exalted" [Al-Raโ€˜d: 9]

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, be sure that your exaltation of Allah is greater than your exaltation for any great human being for He is Greater than all things, Greater in His Self, attributes, actions, status, might, and majesty.

๐Ÿ’Ž Allah commands us to exalt Him, knowing this greatness. He says that which means: "And say, โ€œAll praise is due to Allah Who has neither taken to Himself a son, nor has He any partner in His dominion, nor does He need anyone, out of weakness, to protect Him.โ€ So exalt Him in a manner worthy of His exaltation." [Al-Isrฤโ€™: 111]

๐Ÿ’Ž In light of this noble name and attribute of our Lord, we were commanded to say Takbฤซr in many areas of worship, for example:
โžก๏ธ when we commence the prayer and when we move from one position to another in it
     โžก๏ธ during the Adhฤn
โžก๏ธ during the Tawฤf, Saโ€˜i, the throwing of pebbles at Hajj

๐Ÿ’Ž When you say Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Most Great), remember that Allah is Greater with His Self than any other self. He is Greater with His safety and relief than any affliction. He is Greater with His forgiveness than any sin. He is Greater with His cure than any illness. He is Greater with His power than any enemy. Allah is the Most Great, and all praise is due to Him.

Allah's Names:
Al-Awwal - Al-Aakhir
(The First - The Last)

โžก๏ธ Allah's name Al-Awwal (The First) tells us that He is the One before Whom there was nothing. All creatures came into existence by His creating. As for Him, there is no beginning for His existence.

โžก๏ธ Allah's name Al-Aakhir tells us that He is the One after Whom there is nothing. He is the Ever-Lasting and everything on earth will perish and ultimately return to Him. There is no end to His existence, subhanah.

โžก๏ธ These noble names occur in the verse that says:

๏ดฟู‡ููˆูŽ ุงู„ุฃูŽูˆู‘ูŽู„ู ูˆูŽุงู„ุขุฎูุฑู ูˆูŽุงู„ุธู‘ุงู‡ูุฑู ูˆูŽุงู„ุจุงุทูู†ู ูˆูŽู‡ููˆูŽ ุจููƒูู„ู‘ู ุดูŽูŠุกู ุนูŽู„ูŠู…ูŒ๏ดพ

"He is the First and the Last, and the Manifest and the Hidden and He is All-Knowing of everything" [Al-Hadฤซd: 3]

โžก๏ธ They are also mentioned in the Prophetโ€™s Sunnah in a Hadฤซth reported by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding a supplication to be said before sleep, โ€œO Allah, You are the First and there is nothing before You. You are the Last and there is nothing after You...โ€

๐Ÿ’Ž Dear sister, your glorification and love for Allah Almighty will grow so much when you know that He had always been and nothing existed before Him, and there is no beginning for His existence. That is the attribute of the True God.

๐Ÿ’Ž Know that all things apart from Allah Almighty were non-existent and He bestowed upon them the favor of bringing them into existence in addition to preparing them and providing them with sustenance and all the creation is doomed to end and perish. All praise is due to Him in this Life and in the Hereafter.

๐Ÿ’Ž Your servitude to Allah, the First, means that you should worship the Almighty Initiator. This gives you a sense of tranquility and trust in His promise. And your servitude to Allah, the Last, means that you worship the Ever-Lasting God Who will not die or perish while everything else will come to an end and perish. So, let your heart be attached to Him and let your limbs pursue the proper means to reach your goals.
