Dark to light

When all around was dark
And no hope could be found
The little seed stirred
And moved amidst the ground

It used its strength and power
To push its way above
Towards the light it knew to go
To show the world its love

And when it peeked out of the dark
It knew it now was free
To spread its stem & leaves & flowers
To bring joy for all to see

Its beauty shone around the world
With colours warm and bright
The darkness from the ground it came
Could no longer hold its light
