UK energy bills to rise even higher as suppliers warn of ‘nationwide crisis’
The new year could see further increases to energy bills in the United Kingdom, providers have warned.
Speaking to the Financial Times, several providers including Good Energy, EDF and the trade body Energy UK called on the government to intervene as a matter of urgency.
The warning comes as the cost of gas in wholesale markets increased by over 500 percent in less than a year.

CDC says it exaggerated Omicron’s spread
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has corrected its Covid-19 reporting, saying its previous estimate for the percentage of new cases caused by the Omicron variant was more than triple the actual figure.
Only 22.5% of US Covid-19 infections recorded in the week that ended on December 18 were linked to Omicron, rather than the 73.2% estimate that was announced last week, the CDC said on Tuesday. It also revealed that the new strain accounted for 58.6% of new cases in the week that ended on December 25, while almost all other infections were caused by the Delta variant.

So we need to back them and let them know our thoughts.
We ALL now need to send emails to Baroness Noakes who appears to be strongly in favour of NHS staff keeping our jobs, however, the House of Lords has a blanket email they use:

France plans to take legal action against Britain on the issue of post-Brexit fishing licences early next year, France’s junior minister for European Union affairs says.
Minister Clement Beaune told France 2 television on Thursday that a high-profile meeting with EU representatives would take place on January 4 about the stand-off with the UK on fishing rights and a suit would later be filed with a special tribunal in “the very first days of January.”
