The Case for a Global Carbon-Pricing Framework
An Agreement Is the Last, Best Hope for Averting Climate Disaster

The 28th annual UN Climate Change Conference will begin on November 30 in Dubai, coming on the heels of the UN secretary-general’s Climate Ambition Summit in late September.

The agreement forged at the 2015 Paris Climate Summit called for limiting the world’s temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius, yet global emissions continue to rise. Millions of people are expected to become climate refugees in this decade alone. The World Health Organization has predicted that between 2030 and 2050, an additional 250,000 people will die annually from climate-change-related malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, and heat stress.

What is Communitarianism?

Communitarianism is the unelected, centralized governance of a transhumanist, micropolitics society. “It’s the kind of communist capitalism, or capitalist communism, that you’re not supposed to understand.”

Ukraine’s Future Lies in the Great Reset

MAY 9, 2023

Elite plans for digital ID, CBDCs and a “Green” post-war economy proliferate in Ukraine as conflict rages, manifesting in Ukraine’s Diia app, the e-hryvnia, a corporate takeover of Ukraine’s war efforts and prospective reconstruction, and other efforts that signal a Fourth Industrial Revolution roll-out. Outlining these efforts and who’s behind them, Stavroula Pabst argues that Ukraine’s cannon-fodder status before and during NATO’s proxy war makes it an ideal testing ground for the Great Reset.

“Ukraine 2030 — the freest and most digital country in the world. Without bureaucracy, but with strong tech industry. Cashless & paperless. This is the future we are building.”

– Mykhailo Fedorov

V. Zelensky appears as a hologram at the 2022 Viva Technology Conference. His speech focused on how “Ukraine was offering technology firms a unique chance to rebuild the country as a fully digital democracy.” – Source

Ukraine picks Rothschild as advisor, hopes for debt swap

Kiev is preparing to return to international capital markets this month, having appointed Citi, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan to lead a bond issue - its first since a 2015 debt restructuring.

It is unclear what service Rothschild will perform though one source told Reuters the bank would help Ukraine “manage medium-term debt liabilities”.

G20 Leaders Plot CBDCs and Digital IDs Worldwide

Their plan is coming together.

In a monumental step toward a digitized future, the convocation of the 20 largest world economies, famously known as the G20, have concluded upon a commitment to herald the advent of digital currencies and digital IDs across their territories. This decision, however, has sparked major anxieties given its potential as a mechanism through which governments can keep tabs on their citizen spending habits and stifle opposition. The announcement came from a recent meeting held in New Delhi, under the mantle of India’s presidency.

CLIMATE COURT-CASE CHANGES TACK

Three years ago we covered the story of six Portuguese teenagers, “climate activists” who were attempting to sue the governments of 33 nations (The EU, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Russia, the UK and Ukraine) for failing to meet recommended emissions targets.

The case was being heard by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and was quite obviously a public relations stunt that never really went anywhere.

That was three years ago, and now it’s back in the headlines. What’s interesting is how things have changed. Firstly the number of defendants is down to 32 from 33, with Ukraine being stealthily removed from the list of climate baddies for fairly obvious reasons.

Secondly, there’s the change in messaging.

In 2020, when “trusting the science” was key, then 12-year-old André Oliveira told reporters:
what I’d like the most would be for European governments to immediately do what the scientists say is necessary to protect our future

G20 summit agrees on words but struggles on action

Its primary role of coordinating responses to economic issues - including global taxation and helping low-income nations manage their debt burden under the Common Framework in recent years - has been diluted because the need to seek a consensus has led to weak agreements, some analysts said.

Cryptocurrencies, Digital Dollars, and the Future of Money

https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/cryptocurrencies-digital-dollars-and-future-money

👇
What are cryptocurrencies?

So called for their use of cryptography principles to mint virtual coins, cryptocurrencies are typically exchanged on decentralized computer networks between people with virtual wallets. These transactions are recorded publicly on distributed, tamper-proof ledgers known as blockchains. This open-source framework prevents coins from being duplicated and eliminates the need for a central authority such as a bank to validate transactions. Bitcoin, created in 2009 by the pseudonymous software engineer Satoshi Nakamoto, is by far the most prominent cryptocurrency, and its market capitalization has peaked at over $1 trillion. Numerous others, including Ethereum, the second-most popular, have proliferated in recent years.

Cryptocurrency users send funds between digital wallet addresses. These transactions are then recorded into a sequence of numbers known as a “block” and confirmed across the network. Blockchains do not record real names or physical addresses, only the transfers between digital wallets, and thus confer a degree of anonymity on users. Some cryptocurrencies, such as Monero, claim to provide additional privacy. However, if the identity of a wallet owner becomes known, their transactions can be traced.

What is a central bank digital currency?

In an effort to assert sovereignty, many central banks, including the U.S. Federal Reserve, are considering introducing their own digital cash, known as a central bank digital currency (CBDC). For proponents, CBDCs promise the speed and other benefits of cryptocurrency without the associated risks. Dozens of countries—together representing more than 90 percent of the global economy—are exploring CBDCs. Eleven countries have fully launched CBDCs. All are lower-income and ten are in the Caribbean (Nigeria is the eleventh). Since piloting a digital yuan in 2019, China is now expected to extend its CBDC pilot program to its population of over one billion by the end of 2023. In the United States, there is reportedly disagreement among Fed officials over the need for a digital dollar.

“Get Fair About Farming”

“Almost half (49%) of British fruit and veg farmers fear they will go out of business within the next 12 months. 75% report that supermarket behaviour is a leading factor.* Farmers live with constant uncertainty; never knowing what they will be paid or when, how much of a crop will be bought, or whether it will be rejected altogether.”
