Ultimately under Agenda 21 that came out of the United Nations they say that they want to be the arbitrators of distributing the world's food to different countries and those countries who go over the limit of population will be denied extra food, which will encourage them to kill or cull back the population. Shell Quietly Ditches Failed Carbon Credit Scheme
Shell, Europe's largest oil company, has quietly shelved the world's largest corporate plan to develop carbon offsets, after CEO Wael Sawan laid out an updated strategy for the company that included cutting costs and doubling down on profit centers (oil and gas) - which notably omitted any mention of the company's prior commitment to spend up to $100 million per year to build a 'pipeline' of carbon credits as part of the firm's promise to achieve 'net zero' emissions by 2050, Bloomberg reports.

South Africa calls it "Loadshedding". Their Govt switches off power for 4, 6 and in some regions up to 8 hours every day. Ongoing for years.
The only difference is, in the UK it is voluntary. Will it be for long? It certainly is deliberate and in their agenda.

To justify these measures the con of man-made climate cooling, then heating, then change etc... were invented.
To limit growth and transition to a world with less people they are switching to the centralised control of ALL resources, including electricity supply.
The below two articles with regard to the electrical supply problems in South Africa reveal an obvious agenda that is going ahead without any input from the public.
