This is the first in a series of five articles on the state of academia.

In this introductory article to a series for UK Column, we pull back the curtain on the reality of education today. We show how universities have long foregone their mission as beacons of objective research and instead are promoting governmental and global agendas. We also reveal the tools for control as including authoritarian leadership, peer review, a culture of bullying and overt censorship.

The costs to society are immense, not only because graduates take their controlled thinking into the world at large, but also because research conducted in universities percolates into the body of society including schools and public policy.

The Veins In Your Hand Are The Next Target For Dystopian Biometric ID Scanning

Forget face, iris, and fingerprint biometric scans. Are you ready for the veins in your body to be “photographed,” cataloged, and made available to – in reality, eventually, or soon enough – who knows who, who knows for what purpose, depending on circumstances/price, at any point in time?

You’re probably not, but there is a Switzerland-based biometrics startup called Global ID that is certainly ready to provide a way of collecting that – very – personal data. And the company says – now is your turn to believe it, of course – that the (sole) purpose is to authenticate systems and enterprise access control methods.

What we do know right now is that Global ID is not toiling alone, on the margins. To help this effort along, the US has recently approved two patents for technology that its makers say is created for the purpose of said system authentication – via finger-veins.

Russia’s State Duma Approves Major National CBDC Project

Russia’s monetary future has become a hotbed for debate as the country’s parliament accelerates the adoption of the digital ruble, its central bank digital currency (CBDC) project.

The bill, which has now passed through the State Duma, the lower chamber of the Federal Assembly, will raise eyebrows among privacy advocates. While the legislation is set to move to the Federation Council, the assembly’s upper chamber, and potentially on to the president’s desk for final approval, the implications for individual privacy in this digital landscape remain troubling.
Amendments to the legislation were made at the end of June, including defining the terms “platform,” “participants,” and “users.” These definitions create the framework of the CBDC ecosystem, but they also cast a spotlight on the potential privacy intrusions embedded in the digitization of financial transactions.

The Bank of Russia (BoR), under the proposed legislation, is slated to manage the digital ruble infrastructure and maintain responsibility for all stored assets. However, the centralized nature of this structure, with the BoR at the helm, potentially exposes users to unprecedented levels of financial scrutiny, as every transaction could be tracked and monitored.

Amazon Pushes Back On EU’s New Censorship Law

In an interesting movie, Amazon has voiced dissent against the European Union’s forthcoming regulations aimed at curbing online “disinformation.” The retail and tech colossus lodged a formal petition to the General Court in Luxembourg, contesting certain aspects of the rules, as per information initially divulged by the Financial Times.

🤥 The absolute state of British tabloids as we appear to be auditioning yet another manufactured bogey man.

The sapped adrenal glands of stress-exhausted Britons are set to take another hammering given the latest round of media-hyped terror.

A new "killer virus" is sweeping Europe and is "bound to arrive in UK".

Brits who have had a summer of relative mask-less freedom have been warned that if/when it arrives LOCKDOWNS could well be the order of the day (for some reason?)

It's called Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) and it's "nasty".

Despite being known and documented for at least 80 years, suddenly the W.H.O have it in their sights as a potential "Pandemic" situation.

But "CLIMATE CHANGE" is leading to the spread of ticks and this disease.

It kills "5 - 40%" of people it infects 🤔

There is no vaccine AND there is no treatment.

BUT WAIT... there is a vaccine under development. It has had preliminary testing and it appears "safe and effective"

No treatment means, if, hypothetically this vaccine was rushed to development it could be approved under EMERGENCY USE AUTHORISATION 🚨

Amazingly, the vaccine has the same Adenovirus Vector platform as the ASTRAZENECA COVID VACCINE [2] 🦠

Amazingly it is being tested and potentially developed at the University of Oxford Jenner Institute; the same people who brought us the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine 💉

Thank goodness the Jenner Institute has the financial backing of the BILL AND MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION [3] so they won't run out of development funds 😌
