It is simply no longer possible to believe in the journals, in the regulatory agencies and in official guidance.

"The journals are paid off, the FDA is paid off, the people on these regulatory panels who regulate these drugs are paid off. So, they are all paid off. And that is why a conflict of interest – it does not matter how big or how small – is a conflict. Once you have a conflict, you are conflicted and you cannot be honest.

Everyone should read the book [The Truth About the Drug Companies: How they deceive us and what to do about it] by Marcia Angell written in 2002. She was the editor of the New England Journal of Medicine at that time and she resigned because of her disgust with the system. She states:

'It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.'

So this is somebody who really knows, who has seen it from the inside. This was in 2002. Seems like I was obviously still in the cradle because I had not seen the light."
