This article from 2015 highlights some of the bigger gene editing companies that investors would be interested in.

This technology has the potential to do a lot of good, no doubt. However, to think that they are doing this for OUR benefit, after observing the last two years is naive.

The 4th Industrial Revolution needs a new type of worker for a new type of world. Individualism is being severely attacked and you might have already read of one bioethicist speaking of the need to create a morality pill.

Gene editing is just such a tool to create the perfect worker for the new economic system.

The NHS provides translators for 160 languages including Cherokee and Cebuano. The fact that there are no registered users of those languages in Britain doesn’t seem to concern the people with the cheque books. (Try visiting a hospital in Turkey or Greece and asking for a free translator.)

Who gets to decide what 'defective' really means?

This topic is very easy to look into. This is the next blue-chip industry and lots of gene editing companies are advertising their skills.

Just to emphasize, gene editing is NOT NEW. It has been in full implementation since the 1970s and the means of getting to the DNA has improved immeasurably.
