I giorni della settimana - Days of the week

Did you know the days of the week in Italian are named after planets?

Lunedì (Monday) → Luna (Moon)

Martedì (Tuesday) → Marte (Mars)

Mercoledì (Wednesday) → Mercurio (Mercury)

Giovedì (Thursday) → Giove (Jupiter)

Venerdì (Friday) → Venere (Venus)

And two exceptions:

Sabato (Saturday) → from Hebrew Shabbat (day of rest)

Domenica (Sunday) → from Latin Dominica (day of the Lord)
