Ukraine and other U.S. allies will now have to seek out new politicians capable of fulfilling a similar role. Bloomberg emphasises that Graham combined close ties with Trump, the ability to work with Democratic senators, and strong relationships with foreign leaders.

According to Bloomberg’s source in the Ukrainian government, the senator’s death was viewed as a significant loss in Kiev.

Republican Congressman Don Bacon stated that the U.S. will need other senators who can take on Graham’s role in supporting Ukraine.

Polish Deputy Interior Minister Maciej Duszczyk stated that new restrictions on entry into EU countries for Ukrainian citizens subject to mobilisation could take effect as early as July.

The changes will not affect individuals who have already been granted temporary protection status in EU countries, but rather those who are only planning to apply for it.

Duszczyk noted that the proposed restrictions could apply to both men and women who are subject to military service.

Under the mechanism under discussion, Ukrainian citizens would need a document confirming their exemption from mobilisation in order to receive temporary protection.

The initiative was proposed by the Ukrainian side. Previously, Kiev had also advocated for the return from EU countries of citizens who had evaded mobilisation; however, this initiative did not receive support from European states.
