Geopolitics and Justice: Unveiling the Untold, While Advocating for a Just Peace in the World. Support our work: ko-fi.com/theislandernews

I was at Mass last evening. Feb 1 readings. And I don’t think I’ve ever felt the distance between Scripture and power so viscerally.

The First Reading comes from the Book of Zephaniah — from what Judaism itself calls the Tanakh, not the Christian “Old Testament.” No translation tricks. No theological footnotes. Just the text, naked and accusatory:

“The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth… and there shall be none to make them afraid.”

Pause there.

Not conquest. Not dominion. Not chosen to dominate.

Humility. Truth. Meekness. A people who do not lie.

Now overlay that onto the present moment — onto Gaza reduced to powdered bone and rebranded by Israeli officials as a “future planned community.” Onto ministers casually invoking Hitler with better branding while standing atop mass graves. Onto casualty figures that stopped being counted (estimated at over 600,000 —mostly women and children) not because the killing stopped, but because the institutions that counted the dead were themselves obliterated.

The grotesque irony is unbearable: a state claiming fidelity to the Tanakh while violating its moral spine line by line.

And then the Gospel.

Christ ascends the mountain in the Gospel of Matthew, and what follows is not ambiguity, not metaphor, not wiggle room. It is the Beatitudes — the most radical moral inversion ever spoken into history:

Blessed are the meek.
Blessed are the merciful.
Blessed are the peacemakers.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice.

Tell me? Where does industrial siege fit into this? Where do mass bombings, drone assassinations, starvation blockades, and collective punishment hide in that mountain sermon?

They don’t.

And yet... here is the most disturbing layer, this carnage is not merely tolerated by large segments of Western Christianity, it is theologically lubricated by it.

American evangelical Zionism did not fall from the sky. It was soft-installed over a century, beginning with the Scofield Reference Bible — a theological hack-job that fused apocalyptic prophecy with subservience to Zionism, to political Israel. A footnoted scripture that quietly taught generations of Christians that allegiance to Israel — any Israel, any action, was obedience to God.

So when bombs fall, they call it destiny.
When children die, they call it prophecy.
When Israel pushes relentlessly for war with Iran, they call it “biblical inevitability,” even as the region edges toward a civilizational detonation.

This is not Christianity. This is not Judaism. This is eschatology weaponized for empire.

And here’s the final, bitter irony:
The Jesus of the Gospels — meek, merciful, hunted by power, would not be allowed past the security gate of the very conferences where His name is invoked to justify mass death.

The prophets warned against this exact inversion. Christ wept over it.

So perhaps the readings today were not comfort. Perhaps they were indictment.

A reminder that Scripture is not a shield for power, but a mirror. And right now, that mirror is unforgiving.

Scripture is not on trial here.
Power is. And the evidence has already been entered into the record.

The prophets spoke of humility, truth, and mercy — not siege and deceit.
Christ blessed the meek, the merciful, the peacemakers, not those who starve cities and baptize violence with scripture.

Blessed are the peacemakers, which is why they are silenced. Blessed are the meek, which is why they are buried.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, which is precisely why justice now terrifies power.

Scripture has already rendered its judgment. What remains is the historical sentence.

Epstein's documents show that Jeffrey Epstein told Peter Thiel that he 'represented the Rothschilds', when he was arranging meetings and inviting him to his island.

In another email correspondence, Ariana de Rothschild discusses allegations that Hitler lived in a shelter funded by three wealthy Jewish families - the Rothschilds, Epsteins, and Gutman - before the First World War.

The case materials repeatedly mention the connections between Epstein and Rothschild.

In whispers of justice, on January’s eve,
Three million pages unfurl like a thief,
Revealing dark ties to the powerful elite,
From Musk’s bold visions to Trump’s gilded seat.

Emails and shadows from islands afar,
Where secrets were traded like coins in a jar,
A financier’s fall, now exposed in the fray,
Whose name crowns these files released yesterday?

They call it “transparency”— a floodlight in fog, But the beam lands soft where it should grind a cog. A million black bars: the empire’s new veil, The truth “released” the way prisoners get mail.

Because paper can pour and still fail to indict — It can name every hallway and lock every light. And that’s the trick: make the public feel fed, While the real ledger stays sealed in a drawer labeled “dead.”

If justice is real, it won’t live in a scan,
It will live in subpoenas that climb up the clan. Not the easy, the famous, the clickbait parade, But the facilitators — who arranged, who enabled, who obeyed.

Reality has hit Trump and the U.S. empire hard as reports indicate a scramble to arm its allies with air defenses before launching an attack on Iran. Meanwhile Trump is engaged in negotiations with the Islamic Republic in hopes of avoiding missile hellfire retaliation. Is this caving or misdirection on the empire’s part? Has Trump’s bluff been called? Greg Stoker former U.S. army ranger and congressional candidate in Texas joins me to discuss.

When Dmitry Medvedev says Europe is being run by a gang of lunatics, he’s not throwing insults, he’s describing a political class that poured rocket fuel on its own collapse. Sanctions marketed as a precision weapon against Russia detonated across Europe instead, exploding energy costs, gutting industry, and locking households into permanent insecurity. Cheap, stable pipeline energy was replaced with vastly more expensive U.S. LNG; fertilizer plants shut down, steel and chemicals fled, and Germany — the industrial anchor of the continent, slid into structural decline. Russia absorbed the unslaught and came out economically and militarily stronger. Europe absorbed the bill. That outcome wasn’t accidental. It was baked in.

What makes this unforgivable is that Europe had a different path — a rational one. After the Cold War, it could have built a genuinely equitable European security architecture: mutual guarantees, indivisible security, and a gradual rollback of bloc confrontation. Russia proposed versions of this repeatedly, even at the eleventh hour. Engagement not encirclement. Stability, not expansion. Instead, Europe chose to outsource its security to Washington, treat NATO enlargement as dogma, and pretend that Russia’s red lines were theatrics. The result wasn’t peace. It was escalation and Ukraine became the expendable terrain where this strategic arrogance was paid for in blood, more than 2 million Ukranian casualties.

Let’s say it plainly: Europe didn’t just fail Ukraine, it sacrificed it. To the last Ukrainian wasn’t became policy outcome, while Eurocrats applauded themselves for a perverse version of moral clarity from a safe distance. At the same time, ordinary European families saw their futures quietly shredded: higher energy bills, shrinking industry, fewer jobs, less security, and no democratic say in any of it. This wasn’t solidarity. It was imperial sacrifice — of Ukrainians and Europeans alike.

Russia did not force Europe over the cliff. No one compelled Brussels to weaponize sanctions its lunatic leaders we're too stupid to understand, to destroy its own energy base, or to chain itself to a proxy war with no strategic exit. Europe’s elites chose this path — loudly, proudly, and with the Atlantic press cheering from the sidelines. The final irony is brutal: in trying to weaken Russia, they made Europe poorer, more divided, more militarized, and far less secure — while rendering the continent strategically irrelevant in a world that has already moved on.

History won’t remember their speeches about values. It will remember that a civilization was dismantled by people who mistook fanaticism for virtue and governance for theatre.

The collapse of the dollar looks impressive compared to other currencies.

The US Treasury sent a signal to China and South Korea, stating that the exchange rates of the yuan and the won are greatly undervalued against the dollar.
