๐ฎ๐ชโ๐ต๐ธMurals of Resistance: A Canvas of Solidarity in West Belfast
In the heart of West Belfast, murals vividly narrate the intertwined sagas of Irish and Palestinian resistance. They are more than mere art - they are emblazoned echoes of a historic kinship, a testament to the indomitable spirit that binds the Emerald Isle to the heart of the Levant. Each mural unfolds a chapter of shared legacy, its hues vibrant with valour and somber with struggle, reverberating with the age-old cry for justice.
The potent depictions of โResistanceโ captivate every observer, reflecting the unyielding hope and stoic defiance against oppression. These faces of resilience, depicted with bold strokes, narrate tales of a relentless quest for freedom. They bear the stark reminder of historic injustices inflicted upon the Palestinian populace, transcending language barriers to etch the grievous narrative into the hearts of those who pause to observe.

๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel reconsidered its original plan regarding a ground assault targeting Hamas in Gaza after receiving advice from American officials, including Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin, a US report has claimed. The initial blueprint for an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza to go after Hamas ostensibly left US officials โalarmed.โ
Subsequent brainstorming between the two allies prompted Israel to refrain from a full-scale invasion of the enclave in the wake of Hamasโ attack on October 7, US sources were cited as saying.
As a result of โwar planningโ between Israel and top US officials, the IDF was prompted to embark upon โmore limited ground incursionsโ into Gaza, in line with a โphasedโ approach, as per the report.

๐ต๐ธ๐๐An Odious Silence: The Blood of Gazaโs Children on Global Conscience
In a stark revelation, Save the Children has exposed a grim realityโthe children's death toll in Gaza over 3 weeks has eclipsed annual global figures since 2019. The appalling count stands at 3,324 since October 7, alongside 36 in the West Bank. Compared to the 2,985 children lost across 24 nations in 2022, a grave humanitarian crisis unveils. Jason Lee, representing the besieged Palestinian territories, vehemently calls for a ceasefire, the faintest of hopes amidst this macabre nightmare.
Amid this backdrop of death and despair, the Israeli military aggression not only persists but intensifies. Gaza recently endured a nearly complete communication blackout amidst heavy bombardment, an instance of the continuous plight the innocent face daily. Further distressing is the report of 1,000 children missing, feared to be entangled in the rubble, their fate unknown. The total fatalities in Gaza have surged past 8,000, with children constituting a staggering 40% of this grim tally. Over 6,000 children bear the scars of war, their bodies a living testimony to the relentless violence they have had to cruely endureโ.
The West, notably the Biden admin and the EUโs Von der Leyen cannot absolve themselves from the horrors of this catastrophe. Their reticence and failure to to broker a ceasefire underscore a loathsome contempt for human life. The odious hypocrisy displayed is not only a blatant disregard for international law but a gross betrayal of the sancity of innocent lives he siege on Gaza, cutting off vital supplies and healthcare, shrieks of war crimes, a narrative whitewashed by the West, their silence a tacit endorsement of the bloodshed.
As the tally of innocent children lost spirals, the question that looms large isโhow many more childrenโs cries will be stifled before the world acts? The dire need for a just peace reverberates across the globe, a plea for humanity to prevail over geopolitical vendetta.

๐บ๐ธ The House of Representatives is considering separating emergency military funding for Israel from that for Ukraine and US border security, House Foreign Affairs Chair Michael McCaul said.
A Republican-sponsored bill that aims at decoupling aid to Israel from other issues is slated to hit the floor this week. If passed, it will see the US funnel $14.3 billion to Israel and unlock supplies of equipment from US stockpiles.
"What we want to do is โ because the need is so urgent now in Israel โ is to start with Israel first as a separate measure, and we will have that on the House floor this week," McCaul told in a televised interview.
