According to the FSB, Ukrainian intelligence operatives were busted posing as employees of the RAND Corporation, trying to extract classified intel from Russian servicemen, from strategic aviation movements to deployment details in the Special Military Operation.

They weren’t just asking questions. They were offering crypto, foreign bank transfers, and digital wallets, a black-market spy gig dressed up as “policy research.” The FSB even published screenshots and audio where these amateur Langley cosplayers referenced actual RAND officials like Hans Pung to legitimize their cover. The goal? Not analysis, espionage.

Let’s not be naive. This wasn’t just Ukraine freelancing, this has Western fingerprints all over it. RAND tself was born as a Pentagon lab for long-range war planning. If Kiev’s agents are borrowing RAND’s name to recruit spies, it’s because the West’s permanent war class and its proxies have blurred the lines between diplomacy, academia, and sabotage.

Caught red-handed. And still pretending they’re the good guys.
