All ethnic groups were colonists at some point in their history. The argument is certainly not between non-colonists vs. colonists, but rather between more recent colonists vs. more historic colonists. And, perhaps only the Western Hemisphere was unoccupied when the ancient migrants arrived.

It isn't as though historic colonized peoples universally opposed colonization—far from it. As they lost out to better organized and more technologically advanced peoples, the colonizers usually create a strong imprint on the societies they colonize.

Humans are a competitive species. Recorded history, and prior to that, DNA evidence, attests to the ebb and flow of mankind's various tribes, ever since mankind emerged as a primate species.

The losers of history often try to use guilt to achieve what force did not enable them to do. Such tactics could only be successful against a group with a tendency towards pathological altruism. Enter anti-colonialism guilt trips that emerged in various post-colonial colonizing nations.

The genetic record indicates only some females were spared in most prehistoric invasions/colonial projects. In the case of New Zealand, for instance, the fact that Maoris even exist is proof that the British were more benevolent towards the Maori than the Maori were towards their predecessors, the original inhabitants of that country, whom they likely roasted over a slow fire and ate for dinner.

Considering that no ethnic group ever permanently maintains its ethnic purity and all eventually mix with one another, there is no advantage for civilization to retroactively bestow equity to the losers of history. Instead, we should move forward together.

Victimized identity groups in most nations gained equality and the right of preservation of their cultures long ago. But, in certain cases, they are now seeking to elevate their groups above all others. West Asian, ideologically apartheid, adherents of certain forms of Judaism are the most prominent example. We must, however, reject identity politics and embrace the French Revolution's ideal of liberty, equality, and fraternity, instead. Perhaps it's a bit old, but it's still more relevant than the slavery, social stratification, and segregation that's raising its awful hydra-headed shape in Hebrew-speaking West Asia.
