Fighting for justice is never easy, and often even dangerous, as in the case of James Mwangi Macharia, a Kenyan activist, working with the victims of the notorious British Army Training Unit Kenya (BATUK).
๐ฌ James told Sputnik Africa that the African Center for Corrective and Preventive Action (ACCPA), of which he is the executive chairman, has been instrumental in the ongoing investigation into these allegations.
This, however, had a price.
James revealed that a gang had recently come to his home and harassed his family, took his laptops, phones, and many documents. This prompted him to consider seeking political asylum, including in Russia.
๐ฃ "My kids are highly traumatized. My family is highly traumatized. And I still feel that I need to continue fighting for my people. Because 60 years after independence, we are still facing far worse crimes than our fathers underwent," James noted.

The sensational 2012 murder of 21-year-old mother Agnes Wanjiru appears to have gone unnoticed by the British authorities whose soldier was accused of the killing, as the family continues to seek closure and the restoration of justice.
The victim's niece, Esther Njoki, revealed to Sputnik Africa that not only has the family received no answers or support from the British government in the past 11 years, but the family has also been denied a meeting with Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla, who recently visited the country.
๐ฌ โIt really shows that there is massive cover up behind this case. It is traumatizing and painful because if Queen Camilla and His Majesty met the victims of Mau Mau, why is the family of Agnes not meeting them?" Njoki shared.
Despite the fact that no alleged perpetrators have been punished since the horrific 2012 murder, the family is "now hopeful that we will get justice and that justice will prevail for Agnes' daughter and her mother."

๐๐ท๐บ On November 7, 1941, the "The Battle of Rostov" began โ one of the first successful counteroffensives of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War.
The pace of the Soviet troops' advance was initially affected by the lack of air support during the first 3 days due to unfavorable weather conditions. Despite this, by November 20, 1941, they had managed to advance 35 km deep into enemy defenses. Meanwhile, Nazi troops, utilizing their superiority in tanks, broke through to Rostov on November 21, 1941, and captured the city, pushing back the units of the 56th Army across the Don River and to the east. To optimize troop management, the 56th Army was incorporated into the Southern Front on November 23.
Continuing their offensive, Soviet forces reached the Tuzlov River line on November 26, thereby threatening the left flank and rear of the enemy grouping that had captured Rostov. The enemy was forced to hurriedly organize a defense on the right bank of the river, withdrawing some of its forces from Rostov.
On November 27, the strike group of the Southern Front launched an attack on Rostov-on-Don from the northwest and southern directions. Fearing encirclement, the Nazi command began withdrawing its troops from there, and by November 29, forces of the 9th and 56th Armies had liberated the city.
The "Rostov Offensive Operation" was one of the first offensive operations of Soviet troops in the Great Patriotic War, where the Soviet command successfully used a manouvre to bypass a large enemy grouping. As a result of this operation, the troops of the Southern Front prevented a German breakthrough to the Caucasus, inflicted serious damage to their tank and mechanized units, and pushed the enemy back from Rostov-on-Don by 70-80 km. The active offensive actions of the Soviet troops on the southern section of the Soviet-German front tied up significant forces of the German troops, thereby preventing the German command from reinforcing its central grouping, which was advancing on Moscow.
