Here's another amazing share from Bloody Pirate. Here he shows the homeschool project he gave his daughter. How to build a compost loo.
"the hole in the ground had been dug some time ago, it's about five feet deep...the shed isn't finished yet as we ran out of time today, and we are starting to run short of materials now...the enormous pile we brought with us seems to have dwindled considerably after building the porch, the stage and the shed...so we are patching stuff together to get a useable loo.🪜🪛🔨🪚🛠
Our daughter is 15 and has been homeschooled for several years...she did primary school...she is really getting a good skill set now...she put some shelves into the cupboards in her caravan today, no help, a little advice and did a lovely job of them 👍"
Brilliant!

What we've been up to: Garden growing musings from experienced grower Jen
I purposely let my radishes go to seed. This first year in a new garden is about establishing beds, working out where the sunlight hits all through the day and collecting seeds!
These Radish seed pods are edible! They taste of very mild radish crossed with a pea! And you get loads of them off just one "gone to seed" radish! Win-Win!! I'll take some off for pickling, take some to use fresh and leave the rest to dry on the plant to collect the seeds for next year and onwards!

One of the best plants to attract butterflies is Budelia! They can be invasive but they love them! These are peacock butterflies that are getting some nectar!

What we've been up to: microgreens growing musings from first-time grower Sonia.
I was not particularly convinced by microgreens. They seemed like a lot of work for very little benefit however after growing them I'm now a convert.
I do peas. A lot simpler than I thought they would be to do, they're really nutritious and very tasty. More info here https://www.feastingathome.com/how-to-grow-microgreens/

What you've been up to: Balcony growing
I enjoy talking to strangers while I'm out and about, particularly about the issues of day. Last year it was about the dangers of the jab, the covid con, keeping cash alive etc. Now I've started growing I've added that to my repertoire.
I had a lovely chat with Felix from South Italy who was considering growing on his balcony but wasn't sure it was possible. It's really exciting many people are growing food now.

The Growing Project: Food Abundance community space - North London
After our last visit where some plants had been taken out t.me/TheGrowingProject/70?single yesterday at the garden was inspiring.
A resident who previously didn't want to engage helped clear the space and donated a table for a communal area. Although he doesn't want to grow (yet - I'm not giving up) he's agreed to monitor the plants.
We helped one resident plant potatoes, carrots and chillis. We also met two new residents who would like to plant so we'll be helping them soon.
I challenged myself to make an apple pie using the apples in the garden with the proviso that other residents will make them if I do. Two agreed.
On our first visit we were told people keep themselves to themselves, we've now got 5 residents involved in some way.
