I've just met the most amazing children at Borough Market! Their schools are part of the School Food Matters project where they grow food during term time and sell their produce at Borough Market. This has made my day! The people involved in the charity have such love and joy in their hearts and the children were so happy and proud with what they had achieved. Well done to everyone involved. I can't wait to eat the food I bought β€οΈ
Unfortunately they're just there today but you can find out more and support the charity here: https://www.schoolfoodmatters.org/

Food Shortages / Inflation are the next weapons the criminals running the system will try to use against us.
With our first outreach project (Food Abundance) we have been going into communities in London with leaflets explaining why food shortages and inflation are happening, exposing the fact that both were avoidable (leaflets will be posted in the channel soon).
We bring plants to give away, show how easy it is to learn growing skills, encourage people to grow their own food and bring information about community gardens in the area. We also highlight the need to reject any form of Digital ID or cashless society which is where food rationing could lead.
We hope to empower people to be more self-sufficient, connect with nature, save money and be less reliant on the system.

Food Abundance project: Weβve done 3 outreach sessions so far (Southall, Stratford & Deptford) where weβve brought plants to give away to encourage people to grow food, info about community projects in the area & leaflets explaining why the avoidable food shortages / inflation is happening (we will share soon).
Over the last 2 years weβve done jab outreach so this is a very different experience for the team. Our approach with this outreach is to bring joy & happiness & make it a fun, positive experience for the team and everyone they encounter.
Weβve met people who already grow who have offered to help in their community and people who were excited to grow food after speaking to us.
We believe weβre in a spiritual / energy war & our aim with these outreach days is not only to inform but to uplift & reduce fear.

This is the first iteration of our outreach leaflet. It focuses on reasons for the avoidable food shortages & steps people can take.
The Growing Project is about our journey out of the system and empowering others on the way, so the next iteration should be more broad. What's your thoughts? What 4/5 key areas about exiting the system (mentally, spiritually and physically) would you focus on? A couple of suggestions below:
*Worried about what they're teaching your children at school? (info about homeschooling)
*Don't want your every move tracked and controlled (info about keeping cash and shopping independently)
Leave your thoughts in the comments or email TheGrowingProject@protonmail.com
Thanks for your support.

Let your MP know your thoughts on plans to open our fields and food system to GMO plants and animals, removing labelling and traceability of GMOs in the food system if this Bill
gets through the Lords.
Although the deadline has now passed to respond to the consultation, you can still write to your MP, using the template letter on the Real Seeds website, an organic seed site with their eyes open (worth supporting if you are planning on growing).

This Zero Waste event this Saturday looks interesting. I met one of the organisers at the brilliant Freedom Network Festival in May (next one in Sept thefreedomnetwork.co.uk) and was impressed by her ideas and the community work she does.

What we've learnt: Window sill growing musings from first-time grower Hazel.
"I've been inspired by The Growing Project to start growing. I have no outdoor space so am growing on my window sill. I have 6 trays of come again lettuce, some herbs and nasturtiums. I plan to squeeze some trays of microgreens under the window too.
This is a great project as we will always have these skills once learnt and these indoor crops are very quick and don't take much effort. With a store of seeds, rice and other staples we can have nutritious food within days. I also feel an inner glow every time I look at my crops growing ππΏ" Hazel

What we've learnt: Balcony growing musings from first-time grower Sonia.
"As a novice I've found experimenting to be the most important way to learn. A city girl who has never lived anywhere with a garden I've had a steep learning curve. I started in May growing tomatoes and courgettes from seed and strawberries, chard, rhubarb and aubergine from small plants. I'm proud of what I've achieved and excited to learn more." Sonia

City foraging:
"Since May, most mornings I've been picking my breakfast from my local park (and the strawberries on my balcony). First cherries, then plums and now blackberries. The blackberries seem to be struggling because of the lack of rain. Our park keeper told me that even if it looks like they're dead they'll get a second chance once they get a bit of water.
I'll be doing a foraging course in August to find out more. What do you forage and where?" Sonia

A big thank you to the team at https://english909.com/ for featuring The Growing Project on the radio station.
Truly independent media is a necessity for the future we need to create so it's great that we already have media like English 909 leading the way.
