Should food influencers be roasted? Or are they lowkey cooking?
Recent guidelines from the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) directed food and nutrition influencers to share specific information around food and nutrition only if they have the qualifications to. Catch Monika Manchanda and Karthik Srinivasan live on July 27. More here: https://thegoaproject.wordpress.com/2025/07/21/food-fight-monika-manchanda-karthik-srinivasan/

For our next TGP Sessions, we are taking time to reflect on the last few years and to decide what we do next. So there will be no formal presentation.
Instead, we ask you to fill out this questionnaire — https://forms.gle/pa8C5QoygKjLDh5J9 — and to come join us at an open house this Sunday, 24th August, 5:30 p.m., where we will discuss your feedback and suggestions.
The questionnaire is long, but no questions are mandatory, so please feel free to answer only the ones which you feel strongly about.

The Goa Project and you
Hello, TGPian.
This is a little survey we have put together to get to know you better and to help us find the sweet spot between events you want to be part of and things that fascinate our organising team.
The form may seem long, but a lot of the questions…

Hello
A quick note to tell you that the next TGP Sessions, originally scheduled for this coming Sunday, 19th October, will be held next Sunday, 26th October, at the usual 5:30 p.m. IST. This is because of the festival holidays during this weekend and next week, where many people (including some of the organising team) may want to travel for a break or to visit extended family, or spend the time celebrating with local family and friends.
We will update you again late this week — probably the weekend — to share with you the subject we will be discussing.
For now, happy Deepavali / Divali to all of you! We wish you joy, laughter, sensible doses of refined sugar, and good times overall.

This Sunday, at the TGP Sessions, we look back at the early public internet in India (roughly mid-90s to 2000). This is an ‘open table’ event: some pre-decided speakers, but anyone with stories to share can ask for a seat at the table.

#TGPSessions dives into digital scams and cybercrime. One of our speakers has been reporting on the digital arrest phenomenon, the other, an ex-IPS officer, has some pointers for law enforcement on how to deal with ever-evolving digital scams.

This Sunday, 31st May, we will be discussing the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Act, 2026, and its implications for trans rights, self-determination, and protections against discrimination in India.
The Act, which was rapidly passed by both houses of parliament and received presidential assent within less than two weeks, has drawn widespread criticism from lawyers, legal scholars, feminists, queer activists, and members of the transgender community. Critics argue that several provisions undermine the principle of self-identification recognised by the Supreme Court in the landmark NALSA judgment.
To understand the key provisions of the amendment and their social, legal, and human impact, we are chatting with two celebrated speakers, one a lawyer, the other a veteran activist. You can expect concise explanations backed by years of activism, deep study, and lived realities.
To sign up, please accept this invitation to add it to your calendar.

This Sunday, 28th June, we will be hosting a roundtable to discuss public parks, and how we must do more to cherish and protect them. We have invited speakers, but we will also make place for concerned citizens to share insights.
