The Nazis merely used the Ukrainian nationalists as cannon fodder to help them fight the Soviets and then discarded them in the trash when their usefulness expired. Hitler intended to colonize Ukrainian land for Lebensraum.

Linguists and philologist-historians propounded the theory that India had no horses or chariots before 1500 BCE until people from Eurasia, riding on horse-drawn chariots are touted to have come to India from Eurasia and composed the Vedas. This theory survives in outdated references despite being disproved by evidence of wheeled vehicles and horses in the region of the Harappan civilization dating back to 3500 BCE. There is no doubt that chariots and horses were a familiar sight in India five thousand years ago.

After the disastrous battle of Poltava, the remaining parts of the Swedish army had fled to the Ottoman Empire for protection which was granted only for a limited time. When they were unable to leave on schedule because all surrounding territories were held by enemy countries, the Ottomans decided to use lethal force and attacked the Swedish camp. The king himself, Karl XII, ordered the main force to surrendered but made a last stand with only 42 volunteers... against 10,000 Ottoman soldiers (some sources claim as many as 13,000), with dozens of cannons and fire arrow launchers. Because of his bravery, Karl XII fought in the front and was eventually disarmed to be taken alive by the Ottoman Army, but at the time of surrender the Swedes had killed more than a hundred enemies to only four losses.

Huey Long's Political Views

Huey Long was a strident isolationist and political nationalist who opposed American intervention abroad and was a strong supporter of tariffs, with Long labelling himself a "tariff Democrat". Along with supporting tariffs, he advocated that the American government disassociate from European efforts to settle war debts and to grant independence to the Philippines.

Huey Long argued that Standard Oil had backed rebellions across Latin America to install puppet governments that would be beholden to the company's interests. In 1934, Long claimed that Standard Oil was backing the Bolivian government to make war with Paraguay over the oil-rich northern Grand Chaco region after the latter had refused to grant favorable leasing terms to the company.

Huey Long's Contribution to Education

Long's contributions to education formed a key part of his populist ideology and modernizing the state of Louisiana. Long's investments into the Louisiana State University (LSU), transformed the school from a third-rate and backwater state university into one of the most prestigious in the country by 1935.

Along with his investments into the state university, Long addressed the problem of widespread illiteracy in rural Louisiana. Together with superintendent of state education T.H. Harris, Long diverted tax money to fund night schools that would teach illiterate whites and African-Americans, with the classes meeting three times a week. The effect of the program was immediate when in the 1930 state census as the illiterate population of whites went from ten to seven percent and that of blacks went down significantly from thirty-eight to twenty-three percent.
