A young Yooper named Jane thanks her local line workers for restoring power after a days-long outage.
These photos, shared by Alger Delta Cooperative Electric Association, show two of the group's line workers— Brandon and Jake—receiving a hand-drawn thank you note from Jane.
"Moments like these remind us why our crews do what they do—and how much a simple 'thank you' can mean. We’re proud of our linemen and grateful for families like Jane’s who brighten our days," wrote Alger-Delta online.

Did something happen recently within public education? Like some national news happening that would draw normie attention to it?
Have had a few different parents, this week and last, request more lesson time per week after complaining about how bad the public schools their kids attend are.

What's wrong with this school system?
He's below where he should be and somehow still has an A.
I don't trust his school.
Most forms of right wing political engagement are manifestations of the sin of Ham. Be as Shem and Japheth, not as Ham; do not parade around the indecency of your leaders; take no joy in it, refuse to look at it, and, to whatever extent you can, cover them with blanket.
Thou ought not use vile language against or in reference to those in positions of power and authority. Be respectful.
Romans 13:7:
Jude 1:8-9:
1 Peter 2:18
CHRYSOSTOM (HOMILIES ON ROMANS):
BEDE (ON JUDE):
OECUMENIUS (COMMENTARY ON 1 PETER):
ANDREAS (CATENA):
1 Peter 2:18 is perhaps the most difficult of these for the modern mind, yet it is of grand importance. Submit yourself not only to the good and gentle authority, but also to the crooked, the harsh, and the perverse.
The debt of honor is owed to the office. If one only respects a good ruler, they are respecting the person. To respect a froward ruler is to respect the ordinance of God and to test one's own patience and humility.
Romans 13:7:
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear: honour to whom honour.
Jude 1:8-9:
Likewise also, these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet? Michael the archangel, when contending with the Devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
1 Peter 2:18
Servants, be subject to your Masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
CHRYSOSTOM (HOMILIES ON ROMANS):
Paul urges the people to give their rulers not only money but honor and fear as well. Fear in this context means very great honor, not the kind of fear which comes from a bad conscience.
BEDE (ON JUDE):
Joshua wanted the people of Israel to be set free from their captivity in Babylon, and Satan resisted this. But when it was that Michael fought with the devil over the body of Moses is unknown. There are, however, some people who say that God’s people were called the “body of Moses,” because Moses was a part of that people, and if this is the case, it may be that in saying this Jude is referring to the whole nation. But whatever the case may be, here is what we have to learn from this incident: if the archangel Michael refrained from cursing the devil and dealt gently with him, how much more should we mere mortals avoid blaspheming, especially as we might offend the majesty of the Creator by an incautious word.
OECUMENIUS (COMMENTARY ON 1 PETER):
The fear which is spoken of here is something which comes as the result of knowledge and conscience. It is not some wild emotion produced by the unknown. It is the same kind of fear by which we come into the presence of God, the perfect fear with which we approach Christ.
ANDREAS (CATENA):
The person who says that servants ought to obey their masters out of abject fear is mad and ought to be regarded as a dumb animal, for the fear which they ought to have is based on knowledge and reason and is properly known as respect. For the servant who fears his master for Christ’s sake and because of his teaching will submit to him out of respect.… And there is another aspect to this, for Peter is also telling women to respect their husbands in godly fear, for that is fully consonant with the Holy Scriptures.

But man, this is a reminder of how before AI, I'd have many more people reaching out to me trying to get me to take their tests for them, write their papers for them, &c. Beautiful that those people are now mostly isolated to the realm of AI chatbots.
