Dull Academic Incessant Liturgical Yapping: Philosophical Orations on Order & Reaction

"Nooo, Daily Poor, you can't buy a mansion in a 98% white town in a 98% white county in a 93% white state in 2024 for $105k. It's impossible. 😭"
It's a tragedy that people are so disconnected from their work that this is even a question being asked, let alone one in which most people are saying "just chill" as if it's obviously preferable to sit on your ass for six months instead of doing something productive
What's the dumbest thing you've done repeatedly over a long period of time for economic ends (to keep a job, to earn a raise, to develop a side hustle, etc.) before you became poor pilled?

I used to spend something like a third of my days in the ~80% black city of Gary, IN.
Your degree of responsibility in this world is directly proportional to your level of control and ability to effect change in a given area.

Many events in this world have significant consequences, such as the conflicts between Israel and Palestine or Russia and Ukraine. However, your capacity to influence these matters is practically nonexistent, and thus, your responsibility towards them is negligible, despite their overall importance.

The way you interact with your children, parents, neighbors, and others in your immediate circle may have a minimal impact on the world at large. You may not be transforming the world or resolving global issues through these actions, yet they hold immense value. Your responsibility to these individuals stems not from the far-reaching impact of your actions, but from your proximity to them and your ability to make a difference in their lives.

The area where you wield the greatest influence is in the choices you make. You have the most control over your own moral development and the power to shape yourself into a good or bad person in the long run. Do not allow worldly distractions to divert your attention from this crucial endeavor – the fundamental work of cultivating your character. This is the sphere in which you have the highest degree of control and, consequently, the greatest responsibility. Remain focused on what truly matters, and do not let trivial matters in terms of your own responsibility, no matter their size or overall significance to the world, distract you from this essential task.
Hypothetical: there was an error at your workplace. You were wrongly given 10 hours of overtime. For whatever reason, it's impossible that you will be blamed for it if it is discovered. What do you do?

You guys aren't gonna believe this... But... Being a good and moral person is more important than having money
Who can give this guy some pointers to make his story seem more believable?
“How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God!” When all the saints heard this command, they thought they should withdraw from this hardness of riches. They parted with all their goods. By this distribution of their riches to the poor, they laid up for themselves eternal riches. They took up the cross and followed Christ. Some followed, being made perfect by martyrdom, even as I have already told you, while others by the practice of self-denial did not fall short of them in the life of the true philosophy. Know that this is a command of Christ our King and God that leads us from corruptible things and makes us partakers of everlasting things.

- John of Damascus, Barlaam & Joseph 15.128-29
