This headline is real. There is no back story. It is just as you’ve read. A brave warrior left his home Shabbat morning, October 7th, and risked his life to stop the rapists and murderers of women, children, elderly - and he is now begin tried for allegedly killing one terrorist unnecessarily.
You cannot make sense of it and I cannot even stomach to detail all that is wrong. Terribly disastrously suicidely wrong.
What can be said? The people of Israel are under attack from Hezbollah, from Iran, from Hamas, the Houthis, Iraq, Syria and their allies in Russia and China, the UN, and from the multitudes and variety of emboldened haters of Israel living within this country and without.
We could live with all that, you know?
But what we can’t live with is the attack from within our people. Our own authorities undermine our every hope with each move they make and we, the Israeli people, are choking on the bitterness of it all.

You cannot make sense of it and I cannot even stomach to detail all that is wrong. Terribly disastrously suicidely wrong.
What can be said? The people of Israel are under attack from Hezbollah, from Iran, from Hamas, the Houthis, Iraq, Syria and their allies in Russia and China, the UN, and from the multitudes and variety of emboldened haters of Israel living within this country and without.
We could live with all that, you know?
But what we can’t live with is the attack from within our people. Our own authorities undermine our every hope with each move they make and we, the Israeli people, are choking on the bitterness of it all.

In an attempt to convey the severity of the situation, “Vav” ended by paraphrasing a line from Ezekiel 33:6, writing “This email constitutes a blowing of the ‘shofar,’ because the sword is coming — the hour is ripe to warn the nation.””
