When people tell me "quantity isn't what matters" in writing:
• Van Gogh painted 900+ paintings & thousands of sketches over his lifetime.
• Beethoven composed 722 works (including 9 symphonies, 35 sonatas, 16 string quartets).
• Mozart composed over 600.
Volume wins.
Obviously there are tipping points:
• Too much volume, too little quality, and you plateau and stall improvement.
• But too little volume and you overthink everything, plateau and stall improvement.
How much time does "quality" take?
It's up to you.

So, I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.

Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain’t how hard you can hit. It’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. It’s how much you can take, and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done. - Rocky Balboa #movies (character)

Work is supposed to improve your life. If hard work is degrading your lifestyle, it makes sense to stop and ask yourself: What's the point?

I want to tear myself from this place, from this reality, rise up like a cloud and float away, melt into this humid summer night and dissolve somewhere far, over the hills. But I am here, my legs blocks of concrete, my lungs empty of air, my throat burning. There will be no floating away.
