Former SEC official: Ripple trial will drag on for years
Former US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) official Joseph Hall predicted on the Thinking Crypto podcast the Ripple lawsuit could drag on for more than a year.
According to Hall, do not expect the trial to end in 2022.
The regulator in late 2020 accused Ripple of selling $1.3 billion in unregistered securities under the guise of XRP tokens.
Hall claims the lawsuit won't end anytime soon since the parties are firmly entrenched in their positions and won't take the deal.
Hall himself is backing the XRP token issuer in the regulator's dispute with Ripple.
According to the former official, the situation seems odd because the Ripple network had been operating for years before it was brought to the attention of the SEC and sued.

"Bitcoin is going to fall to $20k."
Analyst predicted the collapse of the cryptocurrency
Cryptoanalyst Benjamin Cowen claims in the next few months it is highly likely that bitcoin will collapse to $20 thousand.
Cowen referred to historical data, according to which the bitcoin rate returned to the 200-week moving average (MA) in the correction phase most of the time. On Feb. 25, it passes around $20,000.
"If weβre going to the 200-week moving average, I think it would actually occur a lot sooner than May of 2023. I think itβs more likely to occur in the next few months rather than really far out," the analyst noted.

Dogecoin co-founder criticized "meme" cryptocurrencies over lust for profit
Dogecoin co-founder Billy Marcus wrote on Twitter that "meme" cryptocurrencies have long ceased to be "satire".
According to Marcus, Dogecoin was created eight years ago to mock the useless tokens popping up daily on the crypto market.
Nowadays, though, "meme" cryptocurrencies are only issued for profit and gain by their creators.
"Spam advertising, lying about who is involved in a project, making up ridiculous promises, desperately trying to get Elonβs attention to promote you, etc. are not clever or amusing," Marcus noted.
