Reminder that the only official channels for Telethon are this one (@TelethonUpdates) and the group (@TelethonChat).
If you have questions about the legitimacy of some person (e.g. owner of a separate help group, such as help groups in Persian), look in the administrator list of @TelethonChat. If they're not there, be wary, because I can't know how trustworthy they are.
Similarly, be careful with "programs" that, for example, claim to add members to your group. These .exe files very likely contain a virus and should not be used. The only way to get members is to make good content.

Thanks everyone for using Telethon and making it become what it is today! The project has just hit over five thousand stars on GitHub, which is way, way more than I would have expected, and I'm really thankful for all the support over the years.
In particular, big shoutout to all the people who offer their free time to help others over at @TelethonChat, those who suggested improvements, reported bugs, or sent pull requests. Telethon wouldn't be where it is today without all that help.
I'd like to apologise for everyone who has tried offering help, but done so in a rude way -- we like to help, but some questions, some days, really hit our nerves. If someone's rude please call them out to the admins so they can take action. Remember there's no need to help if you're not in the mood for it. I would rather have people ignore "trivial" questions than mention their "intelligence". We all want to learn and build cool things.
You may have also noticed the addition of more features to the library has slowed down for a while now. I now have a job, so I don't have as much time as I did before to devote to the project, and in all honesty, I think the project is in good shape anyway! Most things you would want to do can easily be done with the library, even if it has some rough edges (which would unfortunately break a fair amount of code if they were changed in a minor patch).
However, that doesn't mean development will stop completely, so don't worry about that. I will still update the library to newer layers, fix the bugs I can fix, and release newer versions, for the foreseeable future. Pull Requests are very welcome! Nonetheless, I will likely prioritize development on other projects (gramme.rs anyone?). After all, I do this for fun. Open source is not my job, yet.
Again, thank you everyone for the support over the years, and thank you all for the kind words! They still make my day, even after doing this for so long.
(Regarding spammers, they're an unfortunate byproduct which I can't really control. They will always find a way, even if I tried otherwise sadly. So please be the good guy, don't spam, and report those who do. Let's keep Telegram awesome.)
