Turn your hand into a game controller! 🖐🎮
I built a hand‑gesture‑controlled endless runner using Python, MediaPipe, and Pygame no keyboard, no mouse, just a webcam.
How it works:
Move your hand left/right → steer your character
Open palm (fingers up) → jump over obstacles
Fist (fingers curled) → slide under them
Tech stack:
MediaPipe – real-time hand tracking (21 landmarks per frame)
OpenCV – webcam capture and image preprocessing
Pygame – game rendering, physics, and collision detection
NumPy – numerical computations
Why I built it:
To explore human‑computer interaction beyond traditional input devices. The system runs entirely locally no data leaves your machine, ensuring complete privacy.
Key features:
Scale‑invariant gesture recognition (works regardless of hand distance from camera)
Persistent high score tracking
Configurable difficulty and sensitivity
Cross‑platform (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Check out the code: https://lnkd.in/dDWzy8fi

One of the things I’m always fascinated by when I meet people older than me, and they don’t necessarily have to be 60+, even someone 5 or 10 years older, is wondering what they were thinking about 10 years ago.
Like, how did they survive the things happened back then like corona? What did they learn along the way? What did life look like back then?
I find myself comparing their time, experiences, and way of thinking with ours, and honestly, it’s fascinating to think about how much can change in just 10 years.

Episode 4 is finally here! 🎙️🔥
I sat down with Birhan Nega, a software developer with over 10 years of experience, entrepreneur, company founder and content creator.
We talked about his journey in tech, building a company in Ethiopia, working with international teams, discipline, remote opportunities, AI and what genuinely separates an experienced engineer from someone who only knows how to write code.

Most people fail self-study not because the material is too hard, but because their method is weak.

The ML Roadmap is finally live.
When I started learning ML, the hardest part wasn't the math or the code. It was not knowing what to learn next. I ended up learning everything I could find, and honestly a good chunk of it I never use. Along the way I kept notes on the parts that actually mattered, and this roadmap came out of those notes plus a lot of research on how to order the nodes properly, from fundamentals all the way to deployment.
What's in it: a checklist at every node, questionnaires to test yourself, over 80 curated resource links, and real projects built on actual datasets. It starts by figuring out where you already are and points you to the right node instead of making you start from zero. Nodes stay locked until you finish the one before it, so the path stays honest.
This is the first version and it will keep growing. I'd like to hear what the experience feels like, what's missing, and what you'd want added.

I built a 90-day Backend Mastery roadmap for developers who want to go deeper into backend engineering.
It covers 17 systems across Linux, networking, Docker, PostgreSQL, Redis, system design, distributed systems, Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud, CI/CD, observability, security, and more.
It includes curated resources, hands-on labs, checklists, and a day-by-day plan.
If you're serious about leveling up your backend skills, check it out:
