One lesson trading has taught me is this:

Making money is a skill.
Keeping it is a discipline.

There will be months when the market rewards you generously.

There will also be weeks when there’s almost nothing worth trading.

If you spend every dollar you make during the good times, the quiet seasons will pressure you into taking trades you should never have taken.

Save while the market is paying you.

This is why it may seem like some of us never run out of liquidity. It isn’t because we win every trade or every month, - it’s because we protect what we’ve already made.

One habit that’s helped me is moving a portion of my profits to a hardware wallet. Money that’s harder to access is often harder to waste or give back to the market.

Your goal shouldn’t be to make money over and over again.

It should be to make it once, and keep it.

Because wealth isn’t built by what you earn.
It’s built by what you refuse to lose.

A $100k funded account won’t magically make you profitable.

But if you’re already profitable, access to $100k can completely change the economics of your trading.

That distinction is important.

Build the skill first. Then look for capital that allows the skill to actually pay you.

That’s where firms like FundedNext come in.

Give me 5 minutes and I’ll show you exactly how to scale your trading easily. ‡️

Scaling isn’t about randomly increasing your lot size.

It’s about keeping your execution disciplined while your capital grows.

Same setup.
Same confirmation.
Same risk model.
Same patience.

It could be 1% risk per trade. It could even be 10%.

The percentage isn’t the main point.

What matters is that your execution remains consistent enough for compounding to work.

1% of $1,000 is $10.
1% of $100,000 is $1,000.
1% of $1M is $10,000.

You didn’t need a new strategy.

You simply stayed disciplined long enough for your capital to make the numbers bigger.

Consistency + disciplined execution + intelligent compounding.

That’s how you scale.

The longer you wait, the harder it gets to start.

Delay builds hesitation.

If you’re funding your trading account with $500+, one feature you should actually pay attention to is the 50% deposit bonus on AssexMarkets.

$1,000 deposit means additional trading equity to work with.

Obviously, more equity is never an excuse to increase your risk recklessly.

Use the advantage. Don’t let the advantage use you.

Some of the biggest payouts I’ve seen from traders didn’t come from people who started with the biggest personal accounts.

They came from people who developed a skill and learnt how to leverage external capital.

That’s why I’ll continue to believe prop firms have a place in this industry.

Skill first.

Capital second.

Important questions to ask yourself before getting into any trade:

What is the market narrative right now?

What higher-timeframe key levels is price reacting from?

Has the liquidity I’m expecting price to target or sweep already been taken?

What confirmations have formed to validate my trade idea?

And most importantly:

If I can’t answer these questions clearly, why am I entering the trade?

Spreads and commissions look like small numbers until you calculate how much you’ve paid after hundreds of trades.

Trading already has enough costs.

I don’t see why execution should unnecessarily add more.

Tight spreads + zero commission remains one of my favourite combinations on AssexMarkets.

Be Patient With Your Own Timeline❕
One thing I think a lot of people struggle with today is feeling like they’re somehow behind in life.

You open your phone and someone your age just bought a house. Another person is travelling the world. Someone younger than you is making ridiculous money. Another person just got married.

And before you know it, you’re looking at your own life like: β€œAm I even doing enough?”
❀450πŸ”₯103😭64πŸ‘10πŸ‘6πŸ’―6πŸ†5😨4πŸ†’3
That’s where comparison starts messing with your head.

The truth is, everybody’s timeline is different. Someone can win very early and struggle later. Someone else can look completely lost in their 20s and become extremely successful in their 30s. Life is funny like that.
❀454πŸ”₯62πŸ’―52πŸ‘9πŸ‘6😭6πŸ₯°3πŸ†’2
So instead of always asking: β€œAm I moving fast enough?” ask: β€œAm I still moving in the right direction?”

Because speed is useless if you’re headed the wrong way.
❀437πŸ”₯104✍46πŸ‘17πŸ’―11⚑8πŸ‘6πŸ†’5😭1
And this is where people make mistakes. They see someone else moving faster, panic, and abandon something that was actually working for them. They switch careers. Jump into random businesses. Start forcing investments. Borrow money to look successful. Enter relationships because everyone around them is settling down.

All because they feel like they’re behind.

That pressure can make you ruin a perfectly good journey.
❀466πŸ”₯84✍40πŸ’―27πŸ‘15πŸ‘7😭5πŸ†’2πŸ₯°1
You also have to remember that you usually don’t know the full story behind anybody’s success. You don’t know their starting point. You don’t know who helped them. You don’t know how many times they failed before you noticed them.

You’re basically comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel. That will always make your life look slower than it actually is.
