💸 Thanks to Donald Trump’s nomination of Paul Atkins as the new chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the price of Bitcoin has crossed the $100,000 mark for the first time, reaching its highest price in history!

Mr. Atkins is currently the CEO of the investment firm Patomak and, unlike the former SEC chairman, is a crypto advocate and co-chair of the Token Alliance, a crypto lobbying group in Washington.

By appointing him, Donald Trump will not only fulfill his promise to replace Gary Gensler, the former SEC chairman who was known for his opposition to crypto, but will also create a more supportive environment and regulations for the crypto industry.

In addition, Jerome Powell, the chairman of the US Federal Reserve, also said today that Bitcoin, like gold, is only digital and that people do not primarily use it to make payments or store value, so from the Federal Reserve's perspective, it is not a competitor to the dollar, but to gold.
