All rear cameras in the OnePlus 15 have been downgraded compared to the OnePlus 13
The main camera has been downgraded from LYT808 (1/1.4") to IMX906 (1/1.56"), the ultra wide from JN5 (1/2.75") to OV50D (1/2.88"), and the telephoto from IMX882 (1/1.95") to JN5 (1/2.75"); for the telephoto, the OnePlus 13โs IMX882 had a 50cm minimum focus distance, while the OnePlus 15โs JN5 has 30cm, which is still insufficient for quality tele macro shots at 85mm, where around 15cm is needed
OnePlus used the older OV50D (1/2.88") for the ultra wide instead of the newer OV50M (1/2.88") used in the Xiaomi 17 series; sensor quality ranks as JN5 > OV50M > OV50D. Notably, the realme GT8 Pro also uses OV50D for its ultra wide, suggesting shared resources within the OPPO group
The front camera is now an IMX709 (1/2.74") versus the OnePlus 13โs IMX615 (1/2.74"); both are comparable, but the OnePlus 15 adds autofocus for the front camera
However, improved image processing in the OnePlus 15 may help mitigate the impact of these hardware downgrades to some extent

Below the RAM is the flagship 5th-generation Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition (8Elite Gen 5) SoC, and above the ROM is the in-house developed gaming network chip G2. The placement logic of the three microphones is slightly different from the conventional solution of placing one on the top and one on the bottom. OnePlus 15 adopts the arrangement of one on the top and two on the bottom. There is no sound receiving hole on the back of the fuselage (rear side)

The overall performance is approximately equal to the larger ESA1016 (third-generation technology), which is slightly better than ESA7514A (third-generation technology).
