An X user reportedly tricked a Grok-linked crypto wallet into sending around $200,000 in tokens by hiding the instruction inside an obfuscated message.

The setup involved Grok, Bankrbot, and a wallet on the Base network. After expanding the wallet’s permissions, the attacker posted a coded message on X and asked Grok to translate it. The decoded instruction told Bankrbot to send 3 billion DRB tokens to the attacker’s wallet.

Grok had reportedly refused a similar request earlier in plain English. But once the same instruction passed through a translation step, Bankrbot treated it as valid and sent 3 billion DRB tokens, worth around $200,000, to the attacker’s wallet.

AI agents are starting to touch money, wallets, emails, calendars, and real-world tools. If there are no hard limits, approvals, or allowlists, one bad prompt can become a real transaction.
