🪙 A Brit is suing the authorities because they won't allow him to dig up a hard drive with 8,000 bitcoins. He is demanding compensation for his $647 million loss

🗑James Howells accidentally threw out the hard drive containing the bitcoins 10 years ago. He searched for the device for several years and finally determined that it's buried in a landfill.

🚯 He has asked the city council several times for permission to excavate, but they claim that such an operation would harm the environment. Considering the potential environmental damage, the authorities argue that the millions of dollars buried are not a sufficient reason.

⚖️ Howells is prepared to fight in court for as long as it takes, as he's currently facing financial difficulties. Moreover, several investors are ready to support him.
